How long does this last or how many times can it be exposed to high heat?

As long as you put back in the jar and seal it. it lasts a very long time its been a year and it still works. braze all the time never had a problem its been exposed to high heat for at least 15mins still kept protected area intact.

Does this leave residue or react with metal?

No. Just clean off any residual COMPLETELY>

why is this is 20 dollars on ebay?

Can't answer that, but the ease of Amazon returns is worth purchasing some products at a higher price from them. I used this product to solder fittings near a TXV valve and it worked great.

Is it conductive? can it be used to shield parts on a pcb while using a heat gun?

This is a paste type product. It leaves residue. Idk if its appropriate for a pcb. We use it to protect vulnerable parts when arc welding or torch cutting. It should be capable of protecting from a heat gun.
