Should I use this before or after I use my trimmer or clippers?

I agree with Anthony - I use it before, during and after. When you first turn your clippers on, listen to the sound of the blades, then hit it with a little of the spray - you will notice a big difference in the sound as the lube gets in and loosens it up.

Do you need the andis oil or can you use this w/o it?

No. This is a lubricant. I have used this product for ten years and never with oil. Still using same clippers as well. Originally recommended by a barber.

While using my electric pet groomer, I periodically spray across the blade and head, to cool it down and prevent burning my pet. If you overspray, you'll need to wipe with paper towel, to prevent product from getting on hair and not getting as good of a cut.
