The new King of Compact great sound!
Amp modelers are getting better and cheaper all the time. The SoniCake Pocket Master is the latest proof of that. This unit is truly the latest marvel in that it gives pretty good, believable tones, has a looper (albeit 10 sec.), full multi effects like bigger units and is about the size of an average cell phone. Why would you want this? Well... It will allow you to practice anywhere you can take your guitar - even acoustic or bass. It sounds great and you throw it in your guitar case and go. All of this and the rechargeability makes this whole package a player's dream. The SoniCake represents the fact that an amp modeler no longer has the be big and expensive to sound and feel good. To make it even better, there is a phone app that lets you dive deep into the settings to customize the presets. I've been practicing on this every day and highly recommend it for its sound and quality for what it's made for.

awesome tiny unit
+easy to use +effects selection is good +good price +nice aesthetic/color choices +portable +bluetooth playthrough +it literally fits in a pocket -battery will eventually degrade -out-of-the-box sounds are passable but not amazing -you will not get "the perfect tone" from this unit -buttons are not "heavy duty" durable its a great unit that falls a bit short of "studio ready" but even then I think you could pull it off.

It's very impressive overall; just not for true metal sounds
The Sonicake Pocket Master Portable is a fantastic tool for musicians who prioritize portability and ease of use. It's compact, lightweight, and effortlessly fits into any setup, making it perfect for on-the-go practice or quick gigs. The overall sound quality is quite good, offering solid tones that work well for a range of genres. However, where it falls short is in delivering the depth and authenticity needed for certain styles—particularly true metal. Even with additional IRs added for personalization, it struggles to hit the aggressive, high-gain tones required for heavier music. The responsiveness and richness needed for a truly powerful metal sound just aren’t quite there, making it less ideal for players seeking crushing riffs and razor-sharp clarity. That said, for general use, versatility, and portability, the Pocket Master does a commendable job. If you need a reliable, space-saving option for basic practice and performance, it’s a solid choice—as long as extreme metal tones aren’t your main focus.

Great little pedal ESPECIALLY for the price !!!
I love this thing, it was cheap price wise, has a battery to take anywhere, and has good sounds and is small and light. I coupled it with a small battery Amp and my Steinberger SPIRIT guitar, and I have a mini set up to toss on my back and take to the park or jam session. So far I love it for what it is. Most of the effects I could probably use live and nobody would know the difference. I'll usually just do a quick setup at home to practice instead of pulling my entire pedal board out, so it's very helpful as far as that goes. The app makes it super easy to add or subtract effect pedals and there's enough effects to pretty much do anything basic as far as distortion, delay reverb and amps and cabs plus more. For under $100 bucks (around half that) it's 5 stars for sure !!!

Good quality, compact, self-contained amp-IR + multi-efx, for a song
Acquired this during an Amazon sale, and at the discounted price point, this amp-IR/multi-efx device is a bargain. Really, one of the better features is the relatively limited and straightforward set of choices for configuring each of the effects components. Less is more, in this case. Contains just enough amp and IR models, modulation, delay, reverb, compression, and drive/distortion controls - as well as a noise gate. This is a versatile little device that is not over-burdened with too many options. Some have mentioned the noise floor and the need for a noise gate... well, there is nothing particular unusual about that. I would just say that, per usual, the clean settings are relatively noise free, whereas the high-gain settings introduce noise... esp in combination with the built-in compressor. This is pretty normal. On the plus side, at least there *is* a noise gate option. Perhaps the second best feature of the device is control via the SonicLink app. Makes creating timbres from scratch or from a preset simple. It's easy enough to edit presets on the device; but on an iPad, it's a piece of (sonic) cake. All in all, this is the perfect little device to while away the hours, practicing with headphones. Overall functionality is adequate for doing all you need to craft a particular tone, as long as you are content with the sometimes limited control over individual effects components. Time will tell about long-term build quality. For now, quality seems great. My biggest gripe with many rechargeable battery devices is the inability to replace batteries. And since battery powered use is one of this device's strong points, it's a shame that a battery cannot simply be replaced, rather than the device itself. If I had to pick one particular shortcoming, it would be the quality of reverbs. Am just spoiled by high quality verbs, and those on this device are mundane. There are enough settings and controls to create some variety, with limited control. Also, some may find the overall timbre of this device a bit harsh. Perhaps. But first consider just what you get for such a limited investment: it's a more or less a self-contained practice device. I have many pedals and find myself taking this one out because.... it is easy to use, I *want* to use it, and I find quick satisfaction, when I just want to sit down and play. No greater compliment can be paid to a guitar effects chain + amp. Yes, there is a limited looper (never used it) and no real drums unless you use the app (i.e. not native to the device). Seems rather silly to be upset about those functions being incomplete, considering what you *do* get for your hard-earned money. Recommended, if only to see how far consumer guitar technology has come.

Excellent Multi-Effect Unit! Sonicake Pocket Master.
Taking into consideration the price of this unit, this is an outstanding product! I play Electric and Acoustic guitar at home, so this multi-effects unit suits me perfectly. Now I have so many choices in front of me and in addition a built-in tuner & looper. Not to mention that you can load your own IR's and NAM files, (five slots for each). You also have a built in drum machine accessible by the mobile app. You can also move 5 of the 9 pedals in the signal chain around and turn then off or on and change their internal parameters as well. Did I mention you can use this unit as a USB interface for recording with a DAW. The pre-sets sound amazing, there are 100 in total and you change 50 of them to your liking. Last but not least you can control the unit using midi. So what's not to like about this multi-effects unit? I can't find a single thing. Buy this unit you won't regret it.

Wow…Amazing
Let me preface this by saying I own Fractal, Headrush, Nano Cortex and have had many modelers over the years. This does not replace any of those, but this thing holds it own, never mind the dirt cheap price tag. I have less than an hour of play time with it and immediately uploaded my favorite IR’s before even starting. I also uploaded several NAS clones, but have found the preloaded amp are top notch. Since my go to ‘real amps’ are Engl and 5150 variants, this covers them perfectly. This thing is so feature packed I honestly can’t believe I paid what I paid. This has everything the Nano Cortex should have, but doesn’t. The parameters are minimal, but adequate to shape tone. The EQ options get me where I need to be. Again, upload some good IR’s, that will make or break modeled tone. The app is pleasantly great. Makes dialing in so easy and the app looks and performs wonderfully. Way better than the Nano Cortex UI. Zero complaints with the app. Bad? Not really. I’d say it’s not exactly a foot pedal as it is a desktop device. I can’t see the switches being very user friendly if controlled with your feet. Some say it would work live. Maybe. You can get some great usable tone, just not something I’d replace a device I’ve spent literal hours shaping tone on. I personally got it for the portability so I can disappear into my bedroom for a jam session and maybe track some scratch tracks with it, or travel with. I can’t speak on durability just yet, I was just so blown away right off the bat I felt it deserved and early impressions review. It feels like a solid built device. Doesn’t feel cheap. For the price it 100% cannot be beat. I dare say would’ve spent double on it and been equally impressed. This is the right direction into the future. You spend $70 on crap junk food all week long, splurge a little and get this thing. Nothing to loose.

I love it! Excellent fx !
I simply love it! I have been using all sort of multi fx from 1990, from single pedal to rx racks like digitech valvebfx and legend 2 with footswitch controller. The latest i was using was zoom multistomp(also an excellente option for a small but funtional gig) , about the pocket master itnis simply practicall the sound is good, has almost every fx that a normal guitar player will need, and a lot of pluses, like bluetooth ability to edit on you phone presets and fx, it works as an audio interface too. You can take it everywhere because of its size, and it still be a pedalboard, if you are smart and use presets for changes along a song you dont need anymore than 2 switches. I really simply love it!
