I just started learning to solder for some LED strip projects and switching to this 63/37 rosin core was a big upgrade from the random solder that came with my cheap kit. The 0.6mm thickness is perfect for small LED pads and tight joints — it feeds really controllable, so I’m not dumping way too much solder on the pad like I was before. The 63/37 mix also seems to flow nicer and “snap” into a solid joint quicker, which makes it easier to tell when I’ve actually done it right. The built-in rosin flux honestly helps alot. Before this, I was fighting oxidation and dull joints, and the solder just didn’t want to stick to the copper pads. With this stuff, as long as I keep my tip reasonably clean, it wets the pads and wires way more easily and I’m not having to redo joints over and over. For a beginner that made a big difference in confidence. Only downsides for me: the spool is only 50g, so if you end up doing bigger or multiple projects you’ll chew through it faster than you think. Also, like any rosin core solder, it does smoke a bit and has that flux smell, so you’ll want a fan or at least a window open. But overall, for the price and ease of use, I definitely plan on buying this same roll again when I run out.

For all my solder needs, i will forever buy this wire. I would say its buttery smooth when you want it to get between thick wires or coat fairly large pads. I also get the shiniest joint with this wire.

I had to solder a MIDI cable, which has 5 or 6 (I forget) small strands of wires within the cable. The cable was completely severed and had to be reconnected using solder. Had to watch many videos on proper soldering, but I was able to solder all 6 small cable wires using this solder wire successfully and cleanly. It melted easily and because the solder was thin, I could control how much solder got on the cable. Wish I had taken the picture before I heat-shrunk the cable. It looked good and it held even with some tug. The thinness of the solder wire definitely helped with soldering the small thin cable wires. The thicker solder wire would have been too much.
