Has a matte finish. I expected it to be completely transparent, but it is not. Will dull the shine of anything you apply it to

Product did not work. I am sure the spray works well however I never got to try it due to the shaker ball not moving when I shake the can.

This spray does have gloss to it. I probably used about 6 or 7 coats on a canvas; I've never used any kind of protective spray before so I didn't quite know what to expect or what the magic number of coats was, if any. I followed the instructions on the can, and put on another coat every 15 minutes. I don't know how many coats it would have taken, but the number of coats I applied seems to seal the water based inks I use (Dylusions, for example Ranger Dyan Reaveley Dylusions Collection Ink Spray, Cherry Pie ). I've been searching on what I can use to seal the (reactive with water) Dylusions ink sprays for a while. I waited 24 hours, then I sprinkled some water on top of my canvas to see how it held up, and the results are positive, it repelled the water. Pro Tip: Get a feel for the spray by spraying on something that is not your project first, or on an inconspicuous area. Start by spraying off of the project so that you don't have edges of your project non-coated, and off of your project for the same reason. Be patient. If at all possible, use this outside. I did, and the fumes still followed me into my house even though I had the glass door closed. For example, I went outside, closed the sliding glass door, sprayed a coat, opened my sliding glass door and shut it behind me really fast and it still smelled like chemicals, and none of it was on my clothes. If you must do this indoors, make sure that your area is WELL VENTILATED. Well ventilated doesn't just mean just an open window either.

Krylon is a good product. Use it on a low humidity, high heat day above 75° and it will dry within and hour or two.
