The Smiths best CD, ever.
This is without a doubt The Smiths best CD, ever. It's all very clever, ironic, funny, dark, brooding, even a bit sarcastic at times. The drums are hot and the guitarwork is excellent. Even the singing is top-notch. If you are reading this review, you may already have this CD but if not, you would do yourself very well to get a copy.

Their best studio album!
I realize that it may be almost cliché to make a statement that The Queen Is Dead is the best album by The Smiths, a bit like saying that Led Zeppelin IV is the best album by Led Zeppelin. The key difference being, that you could also reasonably argue that IV is Zeppelin’s second, or even third best album. The equivalent argument about The Queen Is Dead, if it could even be started, wouldn’t survive long… For starters, as hard as it is to believe, The Smiths only released four studio albums. Also, the title track to their previous album, Meat Is Murder, is, being honest, kind of a drag, speaking as a huge fan of probably literally every other song that they ever recorded. Strangeways, though brilliant, leans a bit too heavily on the pop side of the band. Their self-titled debut, though legendary for good reason, simply doesn’t possess anything quite as magical as the best songs on TQID. The Queen Is Dead has the perfect amount of everything that The Smiths did incredibly well, even compared to most, if not all, of their best peers. It’s an amazing album, and I’m still genuinely shocked that it took me until I was twenty-seven years old to discover this album, and this band, despite being a fan of virtually every great similar band I can think of, for over a decade! If you enjoy The Queen Is Dead as much as I do, might I suggest that you consider picking up the first Smiths compilation, Hatful Of Hollow, as, like TQID, it is also seemingly flawless, with no overlapping songs!

Essential 80's Alternative CD
Great classic Smith's album and the last official album to complete my collection. A must for an alternative fan and 80's music fan.

This Is Pretty Amazing
Wow..fellow fags will like the songs on here and straight alike.."The Queen Is Dead" is a prescence..lyrics to some of these songs meaningful like you've never heard: "Oh mother I can feel the soil falling over my head..I know it's over though I cling I don't know where else I can go..loutish lover treat her kindly though she needs you more than she loves you.." "The boy with the thorn in his side..behind the hatred there lies a murderous desire for love.." from "The Boy With A Thorn In His Side." "No I never had no one ever.." from yes "Never Had No One Ever".."Now I'm outside your house,I'm alone.I hate to intrude..""Bigmouth Strikes Again" is probably the best song musically of a lot of their songs. The best album is ( Strangeways, Here We Come )I think.Croon along with "That Joke Isn't Funny Anymore" from ( Meat Is Murder )..for the heck of it too.Never identify more with a song: "AT the car by the side of the road you should know time's tide may smother you,and I will too. When you laugh about people who feel so very lonely their only desire is to die, well I'm afraid it doesn't make me smile.I wish I could laugh..but that joke isn't funny anymore..It's too close to home and it's too near the bone more than you'll ever know..I've seen this happen in other peoples lives and now it's happening in mine.."

This record is amazing! Arguably their best one. Let it play through, you won't be sorry. There are absolutely no bad songs on this album. The sound quality is great and was mastered well. It came in fantastic condition which is a big plus. So no manufacturing issues such as warping, scratching or surface noise. I highly recommend this album. A great addition to your Vinyl collection.
