Great Game and Entry to Yakuza Series
Great game for my return to gaming after a 20 year hiatus. Ordered Yakuza Kiwami 1 & 2 as well to continue the series in order. Some of the mini games and other aspects of the game aren't for me or are repetitive, so I'm definitely not doing a 100% completion of the game. Over 100 hours in and done trying to finish everything I want before the final battle.

Finally, Yakuza is portable!
I’ve been a fan of the yakuza series since the PS3 generation, though I started the series with the first game that was made on PlayStation 2, then I proceeded to play Yakuza 3 on PS3. It took me some time to find the second game in the series as it was on PlayStation 2 and it was highly coveted at the time. I ended up having to purchase it online. I own the yakuza collection remastered series that released on PlayStation 4. I could go on with my history with this beloved series. I was excited once I found out that because a zero was released exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2, as a director’s cut. So I was finally able to scoop up a copy here on Amazon. I own the original zero on PS4. And I’m super excited for the news that just released for Yakuza 3 dark ties, which will be releasing on all the current Gen systems, including Switch 2. I wanted to leave a review for this game since I had picked it up for the system. I’m getting ready to play the game so I don’t have a review for gameplay. I’m looking forward to taking this game on the go, which I’ve been wanting for many years and has finally been answered.

Yakuza 0: Director’s Cut - Nintendo Switch 2
A Stellar Return for a Modern Classic – Just Shy of Perfection Yakuza 0: Director’s Cut on the Nintendo Switch 2 brings one of the series’ best entries to a new generation with impressive polish, performance, and some welcome extras. It’s a fantastic way to experience the origins of Kiryu and Majima — especially for newcomers — but a few elements keep it from being a full 5-star experience. What Works: Outstanding Performance: The game runs beautifully on the Switch 2 — fast load times, steady frame rate, and sharp visuals whether docked or in handheld mode. Still One of the Best Stories in the Series: The dual-protagonist structure is executed brilliantly. Both Kiryu and Majima’s storylines are emotional, layered, and full of iconic moments. Tons of Side Content: From karaoke and real estate mini-games to wild substories, there’s never a dull moment. The game world feels packed with things to do, and most of them are genuinely fun. New Features Add Value: The added English voiceover and a few new cutscenes are welcome for accessibility and lore fans. There’s also an extra combat mode for those who want something beyond the main story. What Holds It Back: Combat Can Get Repetitive: While the combat system is stylish and fun, some fights — especially toward the end — can feel dragged out or overly familiar. English Voice Acting Is Hit-or-Miss: It’s great to have the option, but some of the performances lack the emotional weight of the original Japanese voices. New Content Feels Light: The additional scenes and gameplay mode are nice bonuses, but they don’t drastically change the experience if you’ve played before. Not Much for Returning Players: If you already finished Yakuza 0 on another platform, the Director’s Cut may not offer enough to justify a second full-price purchase. Final Verdict: Yakuza 0: Director’s Cut is still an amazing game — and this version looks and plays better than ever on the Switch 2. The additions are thoughtful, the story remains gripping, and there’s more than enough content to keep you busy for dozens of hours. A few small gripes hold it back from perfection, but make no mistake: this is still one of the strongest action-drama games on the platform. Highly recommended — especially if you’ve never played it before.

A fantastic start for a newcomer
Never played a Yakuza game till now and I can say that it was an amazing experience. Game plays exactly at 60 FPS and I haven’t experienced any issues in my experience. The characters and the story grabbed me immediately and really made me a new fan of the franchise. The extra content is pretty fun too so I’m happy that I got to experience this game for the first time.
