Advanced Elements Axis 230 4 Part Fiberglass Paddle

Excellent paddle for the money! Very light (it weighs only 35 actual oz), and nicely finished. Earlier defects that have been reported in past reviews were not present in my paddle. It has a good balanced feel and the blade has a beautiful orange glossy sheen. I have used it in rivers and in salt water over the last 60 days with no problems. You will get some scratches on the blades through normal use when they come in contact with underwater obstacles, but so do the higher-priced fiberglass blades. No need to spend $200 more for a great paddle (my friends think I did).

The paddle itself is great but the hole on one of the middle segments wasn't drilled properly. I had to drill my own hole to correct this. Someone else in the reviews mentioned the same problem. Don't order this paddle if you don't have a drill and a set of bits. Besides that, the paddle itself is great. This is my second Advanced Elements paddle.

The paddle seems fairly sturdy and well constructed. Yet the advertised weight is WAY off: 41oz for the one I received versus the claim of a "ultra-light" 32oz. Weight is a significant characteristic of a paddle, so no good reason for such error.

The only problem i had with the paddle is that the hole for button where the two halves of the paddle come together was drilled to high up.I drilled a hole in the proper place.Besides this its a very nice paddle.

I was hoping the sections of this 4 piece paddle would be roughly the same length so it would be easier to pack into a duffle bag for air transport, but that is not the case. When broken down it's not much shorter than a regular two piece paddle.

I got this paddle as a backup paddle, figuring the 4-piece aspect would make it easier to store.I'm thinking that was a mistake. This is a weird paddle. the shaft is very light weight and well made, the thin part of the blades are light and well made, but the center of the blades and the reinforced joint are rather heavy. So it's a paddle with a rather strange weight distribution - heavy on the ends - and it doesn't feel light overall (too much moment of inertia for you Physics fans). It's not BAD. really, just...weird.Oh, and the color? Not red. I'd say dark orange, or red-orange. But definitely orange.

Materials are good, fit of the joints could be more snug but are fine as is and could be tightened up easily.Not high end quality, but for the money ($109) this is a killer deal on an all fiberglass 4pc paddle.Actual weight of the paddle I got is 38oz.Perfect for traveling on the plane, and also as a spare paddle that packs up easily for stowing inside your kayak. This could very easily be cut to shorter lengths if needed.

L'ho acquistata sull'onda della recensione ...Intendiamoci, la pala è bellissima, funziona benissimo è leggerissima ed assemblata è ben solida e rigida....ma ha fatto la ruggine sugli innesti di acciaio praticamente subito.Dopo solo 2 settimane di uso e dopo aver OGNI VOLTA sciacquato la pala con acqua dolce, ha fatto un sacco di ruggine sugli innesti che servono x poter assemblare i 4 pezzi che compongono la pala.Insomma una delusione pazzesca.Non so se è solo la mia...o se l'acciaio usato per realizzare la pala, in generale, non è granchè e fa la ruggine....però è stato sorprendente in relazione invece all'eccellente qualità di TUTTE le cose Advanced Elements che ho acquistato e che sono davvero da guerra per l'eccellenza dei materiali e per l'ottima realizzazione.Dunque il voto è ottimo se usata in acqua dolce, negativo se la usate in mare.Ringrazio pubblicamente Amazon che mi ha assistito ed aiutato sul problema.

Confermo le osservazioni fatte nelle due recensioni precedenti.Io uso questa pagaia solo in acqua salata e sin dall'inizio ho cercato di sciacquarla subito dopo ogni uso con acqua dolce, ma gli innesti in metallo si arrugginiscono comunque. D'altra parte rimangono immersi per diverso tempo nell'acqua salata durante l'utilizzo ed il risciacquo può solo limitarne i danni. Per il momento è solo una questione estetica, ma la ruggine corre velocemente. Vedremo.Anche la mia presenta un certo lasco ma è minimo e non l'ho corretto in quanto mentre si pagaia non si avverte.A parte questi dettagli, il prodotto secondo me è solido e realizzato con cura, e si vede. Le pale, in particolare, di colore rosso e leggermente traslucide, sono molto belle da vedere.I 4 segmenti hanno lunghezza tale che, una volta smontata, la pagaia presenta effettivamente un ingombro abbastanza limitato.Nella descrizione prodotto non viene specificato che le pale possono essere poste, oltre che dritte (come in foto), anche angolate di 60 gradi (che è come verrà usata la pagaia nella maggior parte dei casi).In definitiva è un prodotto che consiglierei, in particolare se abbinato ad un kayak gonfiabile della stessa marca.

the weights are not as advertised. although I did not measure I found it to be much heavier and similar to other alumimum 4 piece paddles we have. Also found fitting of the paddles are rather difficult. considering taking some sandpaper to the shaft but will leave to see if they loosen in time. Personally I do not consider them to be an exceptional value but there is nothing seriously wrong with them. Like others, the weight is highly misleading.

Light, easy to assemble and disassemble. Fits perfect in the Advanced elements Kayak bag along with the kayak. Easy to adjust. Seem to be very high quality

Pagaia molto leggera e ottima per le lunghe escursioni. Essendo in quattro parti è facile da trasportare. Advanced Elements è sinonimo di garanzia. Consiglio il prodotto.

Il fatto che si possa dividere in 4 parti ne aumenta la comodità nel trasporto, una volta assemblata resta stabile. Una delle due pale ha un minimo gioco (per altro facile da sistemare non un giro di nastro a fare spessore) ma nell'azione della pagaiata non si avverte.

Kam in total besch******r Qualität hier an. Die spannfedern waren verrostet und die Toleranz Maße zwichen den einzelnen Steckverbindungen viel zu groß. Das teil wackelt wie ein Entenarsch.Fazit: Spendet euer Geld lieber

Very lightweight and durable. Fantastic touring paddle! Love all of Advanced Elements products, and this paddle was definitely worth the price.
