Works on my Nest Thermostat. I only have 2 wires (red & white). Wire with white stripe from power supply went into my R connection along with furnace Red wire. Other wire (just black) went into C connection. Thermostat set up without issue after that. Time will tell if it actually charges the batteries in the Nest thermostat.

Best part is you never have to remove the fragile cover again. I’d broken several over the years. Now have the screw in and no need to remove faceplate!!! Works as described. Battery stays in unit so if a vandal cut power line unit still works. I cut the line to length and held in place with staples. Easy to install and when you check battery in app it will say hardwired. It also slowly charges battery.
