Fourth Ramones Album Given Five Star Treatment
Own up - you're a Ramones fan. Would you seriously saythis is your favourite album of theirs? Well, I don't mind admitting that it is mine. I loved it at the time, because I found their third, 'Rocket to Russia', a bit lame - you'd got the joke, which was told better on the first two albums. 'Road to Ruin' actually allows a little light and shade into their sound, with - shock horror - acoustic guitars and the odd guitar break in the mix. And a new drummer - Marky Ramone in place of the road-weary Tommy. They can still do the thrash thing brilliantly - 'She's The One' would have been a standout track on any of the first three albums - but 'Don't Come Close' and their version of the Searchers 'Needles and Pins' show they could slow things down and still have character and charm to spare. This '40th Anniversary Edition' is easily up there in quality terms as the first three in the series - the vinyl sounds great, the CDs equally so, the bonus stuff is well worth having, and the packaging superb, with good, informative notes and splendid photographs. I love 'Road to Ruin even more.

ONE TWO THREE (and now) FOUR!!
The 4th Ramones studio LP and the 4th to be given the amazing 40th anniversary treatment! What is great about this series is the fact that the vinyl LP's are an alternative version opposed to a remaster or remix of the album and most importantly they have all been created by the engineers that were hands on at the time! Sadly many of the great bands from the 1970's Punk era have had their material tarnished from churned-out remasters from their past record companies with little or zero input from the artists( The Clash 1999 releases and the Magazine back catalogue to name a couple! ) but in the case of the Ramones all four sets will sit as serious compliments next to the original releases! Also the CD bonus material is out of this world! Buy them, play them and Go Mental!

Great remastered set
This is of course a great album and now it gets the super deluxe treatment, the bonus is you get the vinyl and the CD as well as lots of extras most of which were available when this was remastered on CD years ago I purchased it and it had extra tracks, this has a lot more and is beautifully packaged worth the money.

Excellent release from the Ramones RIP
Again another quality reissue with extras. I love this series and only hope there's more to come. Some of the later albums are crying out for remastering....

Dumber Ramones
In this boxset, The original album is remastered and sounds fantastic (and is available separately and much cheaper). The 40th anniversary mix included here on vinyl and sharing cd1 with the orig. mix is not very good - they've simply removed all the guitar and backing vocal overdubs (which made the original album so interesting) leaving it soundingtoo raw and basic. The "extras" consist of roughs of the original tracks and a poorly recorded live set.The booklet is good though with some great photos. - for Ramones completists only.!
