After his wife and daughter were killed by drug smugglers, Thai émigré Bai An (Tony Jaa) swore to make those responsible pay with his dynamic martial arts skills. His hunt for vengeance, however, took unexpected turns when he opted to kidnap the innocent young daughter (Chen Duo-Yi) of the patsy businessman (Philip Keung) who'd been fronting for the racketeers. Face-busting return to center stage for Jaa co-stars Michael Mao, Eason Hung. 106 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack: Mandarin; Subtitles: English. In Mandarin with English subtitles. Review: Great action, some funny scenes, gory, fatherly vengeance - Action was so good. Plot was good with some twists. There were few funny scenes. If you’re a father who loves his family in the best sense worthy and possible then this revenge movie is Super. Pretty graphic bloody scenes. Review: Rescue - Good movie husband love it

Is not in English - Good Action
NOTE: The blu-ray specifies English language track. This doesn’t have an English language track. It does have English subtitles. The movie is pretty slick; well shot, edited well and Jaa can still kick butt in the movie fighting style.

One of Tony Jaa's best in my opinion. Great action movie for all the action junkies out there. Entertaining watch.

Great movie with a beautiful message!! ❤️🙌🏾
I love me some Tonya Jaa!!! The acting was grand and depicted the art of valor exceptionally! I enjoyed the focus of fatherhood the most and what it meant to honor and protect.

Jaa's Decent Return
Of all of Tony Jaa's starring films, I rank this as his 3rd best, with "The Protector" as his best followed by "Ong Bak". Bluray quality and sound is surprisingly crisp. It's an odd mix of Thai and broken English with English subtitles, but it's obvious Tony is doing his best here trying to speak English. It's pretty heavy on brutal action, mostly relying on Jaa's Muay Thai elbows and knee strikes, with a minimum of crazy stunts and acrobatic strikes. He's older, bulkier and slower. Understandable, and still impressive. Some of the action however detracted from the realism, the dirt bike scene in particular plowing through hordes of machete-swinging maniacs with ease. And then the frail, skinny, axe-weilding female assassin that absorbs Jaa's hits like they came from a toddler. At times this movie felt like Iko's "The Raid". A few poor attempts at comic relief which should have been completely cut from the film. Too forced and awkward. The soundtrack wasn't that memorable. The soundtrack is very important, especially in heroic and dramatic scenes to help the emotional content along (Jaa's 'The Protector" is a good example). The plot gets a bit convoluted at times. I felt like the running time should have been trimmed down to 90 minutes. Overall, a mediocre film that does deliver great action with some believable parts of drama between the father and his distraught daughter and then Jaa and the girl, emphasizing the importance of a Father's role in a child's life.

If you are a Tony Jaa fan, this is a full return to form. He takes his age limitations into account for his choreography and just re-directs his once acrobatics into pure, brutal punishment. Welcome back, Tony! You’ve been missed!
