These were purchased for my home studio recording. Had to purchase some balanced 1/4 inch speaker cables to run form the monitor out on my audio interface, but that's a small price to pay for such high quality audio monitors at such an affordable price. Mids are clear and bass kicks with these speakers. Purchased adjustable height monitor stands, that clamp to desk, to put these at ear level. These also connect direct USB and sound great that way... so even if you just want great speakers for gaming or listening to music, these are outstanding. So, what are you waiting for? I wouldn't confuse them with a high end speaker, and you'll notice when watching movies and TV shows that the dialog is often a little bit lost, but as a general purpose PC speaker, and especially for games and music, these are really spretty darn good for the money. Clean, punchy, a little lacking in bass (unsurprisingly) but I can't really complain for their price point. What's also nice is the USB-C connection which is very convenient for a PC setup, and gives cleaner sound than running phono cables from the line out.
