I use this with an EF-M to EF/EF-S mount for my Canon M50. This lens is fantastic!I'm still new to photography and this is my first telephoto lens.I've used the older model before, but this one has very silent auto focus, great IS, and takes outstanding photos (they both take outstanding photos but this one does so silently).I didn't think 250mm zoom would be THAT big of a deal, but man was I wrong. The bokeh for portraits (so far only of wildlife) is great, and it can even get pretty good images of the Moon.At a very affordable price, it's a fantastic purchase for intro photographers. I haven't tried any 'fancier' telephoto lenses than this so I can't speak for its comparison to them. But I was blown away by its quality and ease of use.

I researched a long time to look for a 2nd lens for my new Canon T7/1500D to accompany the 18-55mm IS STM II lens that came with my camera body (kit). I was on the fence between a 55-250 or 70-300. I'm planning to get a longer lens to take astronomical shots and also some sports for my daughter.At any rate, the 70-300s that I researched had USM focusing motors, which didn't appeal to me since they are loud and slower. It seems the higher end lenses come with those. My 18-55 apparently is a version behind, but had the STM (Stepper Motor) that I liked and it was toted as being faster and smoother for sports and video. This 50-250 (50mm less reach-but so what) had STM built in to it. I ordered it and it arrived today.I took a couple of test shots in the backyard and I have to say the autofocus was LIGHTENING FAST and VERY SILENT. I didn't hear the zzrrt-zzrt like my first lens (still preferred over the USM "rodent sound" from some youtube videos).Thus far I'm VERY impressed with my new 55-250! I'm looking forward to using it and will probably take my original kit lens and make it my stand by when I need to take close up macro shots for example, (since 55 is close to human eye).I also noticed my kit lens (18-55) has a focusing ring that is locked unless you flip the AF switch to manual (MF). This 55-250 has a freely moving focusing ring and no worry to bump it if in AF mode and hurting the motor like my kit lens.Update: the cleaning pen is complete crap. The felt pad on the end comes off of the rubber. The felt pad end can come out to reveal a larger or smaller tip, which i thought would be useful, but the felt comes off of the rubber. Before you know it, the glue that was supposed to hold it on smears your clean lenses! To pull the tip out to switch to the other smaller end, you get black rubber residue all over your fingers. Complete trash. Since I haven’t bought a cleaning kit I just rigged the pad to the rubber end with a small dot of super glue. The bristles also come out of the brush end and the click to go from small to larger brush is hard to operate and gets stuck.Overall I got this for the lens and that delivered nicely. The other add-in cleaning items I wouldn’t pay $1 for.

This product was shipped well. Packaged perfectly to avoid any damage to any part. The lens is exactly what I was looking for as an upgrade from my 30-55mm lens. Used it this weekend with great results shooting a regatta. I'm a complete armature and I've received some great compliments on the photos.

Arrived in a timely fashion and is of great quality. It works very well and I had a lot of fun with it! I got some lovely photos at the beach of the water and it is able to hold sharpness at all zoom legnths! Overall really great I recomend

Bought this in Dec 2018 as a Christmas present for my daughter. We bought her the EOS T6 camera direct from Canon and then added this lens. It is a better lens AND a better cost than the package being sold by the Big Box Company out of Kirkland, WA. Their 55-250mm zoom lens wasn't the IS STM version, and that makes a big difference in a 250mm lens - especially for a beginner. Good service & communication, the product works flawlessly, and Abe's does offer their own warranty for this lens kit. For value-proposition and service, this product & seller deserves 5 stars. Amazon also asks reviewers to rate the categories of Picture Quality, Image Stabilization, and Auto Focus. This is a decent lens for the price, but it is still fairly entry-level. Hence the 4-star ratings in these categories.

I replace a broken ef-s 55-85mm lense with this lense. I needed it in a pinch and was able to get the lense the next day. Did my family photo session for Easter and was amazed at the picture quality. With minor edits I was able to create a really nice quality picture.

Excellent lens for what I was looking for. I have an old Canon 30D and still love the body. Just wanted a new lens to add to my others. Seller shipped quickly and I received it a day early! Would highly recommend.
