ecobee Trim Plate - Made for ecobee Smart Thermostat Essential - Programmable WiFi Thermostat Accessory

I recently purchased the ecobee wall plate to go with my new thermostat, and I’m really glad I did. It made the installation process incredibly simple and saved me the hassle of patching or painting the wall. The plate is well-designed, fits perfectly, and effectively covers up the outline and screw holes left by the old thermostat.

These worked great with my Ecobee. You really can't beat that price. Easy to install too.

Fits great, and covers the holes from other thermostat installs. It looks 3d printed, but no issues there.

Fits well, looks fine. Not much too it. A bit too expensive for a simple piece of plastic but it is what it is. Hole from cover plate locks with hole from the base plate. Screw it to the wall with the baseplate, insert your wires, snap on your thermostat and you’re done. When snapping on your thermostat, make sure both sides are even and you push straight. Don’t try to snap in one side and then the other.

It worked as advertised and looks nice. However, keep in mind that the thermostat also has a back plate with two screw holes, so all four holes in this adapter will be used when properly installed (my electrician initially only used two, so the thermostat was flopping around).

There are high quality un-drilled hole markings to help it fit on to a junction box.

Simple and functional — it does exactly what it’s supposed to: covers the wall gap left by a larger, older thermostat. It fits well (with neatly organized wired behind and a push) behind the Ecobee and creates a clean, finished look.That said, it’s just a basic plastic plate, and charging extra for something this essential feels unnecessary. This really should have been included with the thermostat by default.No issues with the product itself — just a small gripe about the pricing strategy.

FYI this Ecobee wall plate WILL work if you have a 2x4 box in the wall, . There are 4 marks on the back side to drill for either horizontal or vertical mounting. Just remember to use the 2 white machine screws with nuts to attach the thermostat mount to the base plate.(you may need to shorten the 2 screws since they are a bit long and can interfere with the 2x4" electrical box in the wall). Once mounted, you can then mount the thermostat. You will be able to slightly see the white mounting screws from the side. No big deal. I rated this base plate a 4 out 5 because I feel the base plate is too wide and the fact that you can partially see the screws after mounting the thermostat. Would I buy again ? YES Its' the best option out there. I hope this review helps.
