This item is rubbish, it does not do the job it is suppose, and when you try to get a refund, impossible -chinese company - need I say more - rubbish

Was not as sharp as expected.

Great exactly what we needed, way better than trying to use our cheese grater to grate lemon zest for cakes etc.

The item does not make grating ginger easy.

I have had a ceramic ginger grater, which has worked very well for a number of years, but with normal wear and tear it's time to replace it. The word grater is a little misleading, as it doesn’t great the ginger as you would expect. It really purifies it, extracting the ginger juice and separating the ginger fibers.This metal ginger grater is actually a great size, shaped like a large spoon, to allow you to grate the ginger and then pour the ginger juice and (if needed) the ginger fibers into the food/ drink being made.I find using these types of graters better than traditional graters, which simply cut small amounts of ginger off, as you end up using less ginger, as the juice extracted is more concentrated.My old ceramic ginger grater was not dishwasher safe, although this is made of steel, I don’t think this is dishwasher safe either, as the bumps used to grate the ginger can get blunt.The only negative on this item is the area for grating is a little small. As a result, it might be a little small if you are grating a lot of ginger or anything else, as the ginger will spill out. I guess you could do it in small bits, so grate a bit then pour into the pan, then grate more.Also, I'm not sure if this is dishwasher safe, as the product came with no instructions or care details.I also use this grater to great nuts and garlic, which I could not do easily with my old one, as the nuts caught in the groves.

I often use ginger in soup so thought this would be ideal and easier that trying to cut it finely. Instead of grating the ginger it puréed it so I was somewhat disappointed by this. It was also slow going. I don’t know if this is normal as I’ve not used one before so have nothing to compare to. I found the handle a bit uncomfortable but can’t quite put my finger on why. I will continue to use this but will keep looking for something better. To my surprise it is very easy to clean!UPDATEI have continued to use this and found it better each time. The key seems to be less pressure. It then grates the ginger without pureeing it. That clearly was user error lol. I still find it uncomfortable to use due to the bend at the end of the handle and for that reason it still only gets 3 stars and I will still continue to look for something better.

Does the job, it would be great to have a small silicone brush to get all garlic out of it .
