I would recommend the 1
A must-have soldering tip for routine rework of printed circuit boards. In addition, I would recommend the 1.2 mm tip and a micro-chisel for working with SMDs and small lead ICs. These chisels must be ordered separately from the Hakko soldering work station, but are necessary and have a long working life if treated properly. They are not cheap but you get what you pay for. When you want professional results, you need professional tools.

Probably the only tip you'll need
This tip is perfect for general, commodity through-hole part soldering. It can be used for tinning related small wires and pads, and probably works okay for surface-mount as well (haven't tried it). It seems to be not to big, not to small, and just the right amount of thermal-mass. The flat-part of the chisel is clearly visible, manufacturing and built-quality is top-notch. Highly recommended, may be the only tip you'll ever need.

Hakko Fan!
Started out with their desoldering gun and liked it so much went for one of their soldering work stations...FX-951...awesome! This tip was received as described in a timely fashion and is one of the reasons the FX-951 is so easy to work with!!

Its a soldering tip and does what it says on the tin... It gets hot and melts solder, what more could you ask for?

Good wicking tip
I like this tip as it has the thermal mass to be able to draw solder into wick without the wick sticking where not enough heat is being applied. I use it with an FX-951 with an FM2032 attachment which allows for very detailed microsoldering. When an SMD component needs to be removed, and there is a large pad that needs to be wicked, this T15-D16 is ideal. Obviously every situation is different.
