Clean Protein That Tastes Like Chocolate Milkshake
✅Pros✅ + 22g protein per scoop from grass-fed, hormone-free Irish cows + No lactose, gluten, sugar, or artificial junk + Naturally sweetened with stevia + Mixes easily with water or milk + Gentle on the stomach - no bloating ❌Cons❌ - Chocolate flavour is subtle; not super rich so not ideal if you like a strong taste - Pricier than some other options ❓Conclusion❓ I’ve been using this for a couple of weeks now, and it’s been great. The chocolate flavour is mild but pleasant, and I appreciate that it’s clean - no artificial sweeteners or fillers. It mixes well and doesn’t upset my stomach, which is a big plus. If you’re looking for a straightforward, clean protein powder and don’t mind paying a bit more, this is a solid choice.

protein shake, chocolate
At the time of this review you can buy this tub of whey protein for around £45 I ordered the chocolate flavour. it does taste of chocolate it desolves easier than any other protein powder i have tried over the last few years and there were no sugar crystals in your mouth one scoop disolved in 250-300 ml of water or the drink of your choice There are 30 portions in one tub I am happy with the taste and the way it dissolves in water but if you do the arithmetic this is £150 per drink which seems quite expensive to me.. If you are thinking of buying some i would recommend it as a protein drink but do the maths and shop around, avoid ones with loads of sugar. I have added a short video to show i have actually tried this before reviewing it . I hope the video and this review provides a bit more relevant information and is helpful

Bad taste!
It’s either the worst or close to the worst tasting protein Iv ever bought. For a premium quality brand and price point, I was expecting much more. I genuinely had to force myself through the tub!

Chocolate Flavour
I was hoping to find a stevia based protein powder that could match Garden of Life's Whey Protein which seems almost impossible to buy in the UK now as I'm not a huge fan of the taste of Sucralose sweetened powders. This one smells horrible and doesn't taste that pleasant.

Mixes to smooth very readily. Nice sweetness. Very expensive though.
I've been trying out the Legion Whey+ protein powder (chocolate flavour), and overall, I'm quite impressed. The taste is rich and leans more towards a natural, dark chocolate rather than something overly sweet or artificial, which I really like. That said, I have a really sweet tooth. It mixes easily with water or milk—no clumps, which is always a win and not too common with protein powder shakes. One of the main things that drew me to this product was the clean ingredient list. It’s made from grass-fed whey and sweetened with Stevia, which I prefer over artificial sweeteners like sucralose or aspartame. It does however, contain maltodextrin, which has been said to cause bloating, stomach upset, sugar spikes, challenges for diabetics and those with sugar resistance. I’ve not noticed any issues with my stomach though and it feels like a high-quality supplement. That said, it is on the pricey side. At around £49 for under a kilo, it’s more expensive than some other grass-fed options I’ve used, which deliver similar nutritional value. I also noticed the packaging is quite bulky—the tub isn’t filled to the top, so it feels a bit wasteful from a storage and sustainability perspective. Still, I appreciate the overall quality. The protein content per scoop is solid, the flavour is enjoyable, and I like knowing it comes from grass-fed cows. I’d definitely consider buying it again—though I might wait for a discount!

Excellent quality, but the Chocolate flavour is disappointing.
The quality of the protein is amazing. It also dissolves very easily to water and milk. Tbh the 3 stars go to this particular flavour. In the past I bought the Dutch Chocolate, and it was amazing! 5/5. But the Chocolate one is super sweet and tastes a bit weird. I will keep buying from Legion but I want to try other flavours too since this one is not for me.

Great-tasting grass-fed whey protein option with stevia sweetener - quite expensive
Grass-fed whey protein is my general go-to choice of protein powder type as I feel like it is the best of the options available. I had not previously come across the brand ‘legion’ before - although strangely enough that name was on my list of potential names to consider for a brand if I were ever to create one myself. The branding is nice and clear without overwhelming the consumer with claims and marketing statements. I like that it just gets the information across that those in the market for grass-fed protein powder will be looking for - and this audience is likely to be a bit more savvy than the more general-purpose protein consumer. The one thing that they don’t make as much of a statement over (and perhaps should be in my opinion) is around the sweetener choice. You have to check the ingredients list to spot that it is Stevia rather than your more common artificial sweeteners like sucralose or aspartame. I always try to favour Stevia so this is good to see - I just think the brand should maybe emphasise that aspect a bit more. The consistency of the powder is absolutely fine and it mixes as well as I would expect. It seems no better or worse than most other protein powders I have tried - including my regular brand that I would have. The taste profile is good for chocolate, not too sweet and with enough chocolate flavour to feel legit without getting out-of-hand. The price is perhaps the main kicker here. At a price of c. £45 for 1kg tub (at time of review) that is very steep. My regular grass-fed whey protein with stevia sweetener might not be as smartly marketed but doesn’t come in nearly as expensive - in fact often it can be had for half as much. I also think pouches can be a more eco-conscious packaging option rather than using tubs - but I’m open to evidence here. Ultimately, it’s a good product that ticks a lot of boxes - just not the value-for-money one.
