I used to have a copy of this book many years ago. I was so happy to find it again in such good condition & at a fantastic price. A real classic.

Good book could have had more detail on tribes customs food etc

a great book about a great people. well written and informative. anyone who has an interest in cultures, would find it a fascinating read.

Great book and fantastic insight into lives of Pathans. Though its through the eyes of Imran Khan it does relay some very important historical facts which i agree being a Pathan myself. Overall a great book!

I read this book a few years ago - from the library - but I have just ordered it from Amazon to keep! It is a wonderful book about an amazing people from a land that is as far from this western culture as you could get. I had the honour of visiting this tribal area in the 70's and I was enthralled, sometimes afraid ( I was only 24) entranced, in awe and after all these years still facinated by the culture, beliefs and magic that I saw and felt. Honour and respect are high on the list of moral requesites and although there were times I DID feel a bit scared I was never ever treated with anything other than total respect and kindness. This book captures a land and people that this world would be all the poorer for should they somehow not be there anymore.
