Written from the perspective that I use this for work for programming not gaming. This is not a gaming monitor at all and my intent is work only. Me: Programmer, 52 with bad vision, very particular about my mouse, keyboard and mouse and even mouse pad. . Monitor is used 8-10 hours a day. For a baseline I have an additional 32 inch that is in a different class (costs: $950) I use for gaming. There is no comparison so I will review with purpose/use in mind. Use: - Microsoft Visual Studios and SSMS (all day) - VIM editor - Office 365 - Email, Word, Excel all extensively. - Web browsing for deep research. This is what I observed: - The words and images are crisp - Screen can brighten or darken easily - Screen controls/ease of use - Connections are limited. - Eye strain is minimal - Incredible value for the money - Fit and finish is really nice. It’s not high end finish like some of the fancier models, but what I am using it for it is perfect. My office buddies are jealous and they are all buying one. They cannot believe the price! I was reluctant because the price was low and I thought I may end up regretting (like a cheaper m type mechanical keyboard I threw in the trash.). I have not tested watching video on it or gaming. Unless you use for high end stuff, you most likely won’t regret the purchase.

A decent display, excellent cost at 293$ for a 1440p display at 32”. It is definitely a big screen! No VESA compatibility, no speakers but that doesn’t really matter. The screen quality and features greatly outweigh the lacking external features. One note regarding delivery, it comes from the USA and in a box that reveals what it is thus being a risk to leave at your doorstep as it could be stolen.

27" 4K IPS monitor: I took a chance on this monitor after a previous Samsung with a 4K TN panel, which produced horrid distortion and colour shift even when sitting right in front of it. This Philips monitor is STUNNING. The brightness, colour reproduction, viewing angles and insanely sharp resolution are absolutely ridiculous (in a good way). The bezels are super thin, the screen produces virtually zero reflections of ambient light, and the stand is about 50% the size of competing monitors. The built-in speakers are a bit of a bonus, especially if your computer is stored away and you don't want to clutter up the desk. I can't say enough about this monitor - zero regrets here for mixed-purpose use (side-by-side multitasking, web, light photo editing). I can't speak for a gamer's needs, but for an everyday or heavy office-ice monitor, it absolutely rocks. UPDATE: after two more years (it's now 2022), this monitor is still as good as it was coming out of the box. I now have it mounted on a VESA gas-spring arm in an apartment that is about three times more bright than before. Turned up the brightness with 10% left to spare, and it's perfect. (To those concerned about burn-in: I use my monitor normally, without paying any real attention to whether I leave it on or not. Some days it sits on for ages with the same window there. Other days it does not. The screen is like new today, despite the burn-in warning from Philips. It's possible they are just being very cautious with their labels. Zero burn-in for me after several years of use.)
