I LOVE THIS IRONING BOARD; BRABANTIA IS THE BEST...AND HERE IS THE SCOOP
FIRST, THIS IS A REVIEW FOR BRABANTIA... background: I love to iron! I ordered 3 Bartnelli (I don't love to iron THAT MUCH) but each and every one was either unstable, dented, or damaged and defective in some way. VERY DISAPPOINTING AS ITALIAN PRODUCTS SUCH AS FABRICS AND LEATHER GOODS ARE KNOWN TO BE THE VERY BEST. BUT each ITALIAN BARTNELLI was returned and I ordered a BRABANTIA. It was supposedly delivered while I was at home, but I never got it. Amazon immediately ordered another. I have used it for a few hours: HERE'S THE SCOOP. It was perfect; no dents, damages etc. It is stable and wide. There is an ample iron rest, but it is metal (boo). The release lever works, there are several height adjustments and the BEST part is the legs have locking clip that very securely locks the legs in place for storage. Minor things noticed: 1. the metal rest is metal unlike the Bartnelli; I have easily found a solution as I bought a silicon pad for it and 2. the tip end could be a bit longer as I iron our pillowcases. So despite these very MINOR items, THIS IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE BARTNELLI.

Quality, Large Board
Quality, solid board, easy height adjustment, smooth, tight cover, light weight for being a large board.

Much better than what I found in stores
I've been trying to find a decent ironing board in big box stores for months and couldn't find one in person that was well padded and wobble-free, so I decided to bite the bullet and try this one, although I was initially put off by the price tag. It's 50% more expensive than the most expensive ones I tried from a store, but 100% more useable. The other ones honestly did not feel safe to use. You could knock it over if you really wanted to but it's plenty sturdy for normal use, no worrisome wobbles or creaks. It also folds up and unfolds easily but not so easily that the pull-bar feels overly loose, although you should check below decks to ensure that the "tooth"-style latch is properly caught; occasionally it slips slightly past and rests on the upper part of the hook rather than snugly underneath it. It seems relatively stable even in that state (I ironed on it that way before I noticed it, with no ill effect), but I'm guessing it's not as safe. I also like how well welded the iron rest is, as the last board I tried had an iron rest so rickety that I was scared to use it with even a lightweight iron. The manufacturer also offers a ten year warranty. Overall, a quality item. If I had a larger laundry room, I probably would have gotten the larger version.

I love the Size of this
I really like the width of this ironing board. Great for quilting. Very sturdy the way the legs are connected. But I've only had this 4 months and the cover has ripped only by setting the iron on it. The cover is very thin. At some point I'll have to find a thicker one. I would still recommend it.

Sturdy, but too heavy
I did my research and this board is great. Big, sturdy, adjustable....but, it’s heavy and difficult to manage because of its size. So, I have a love/hate relationship with it! It

If you need an Ironing board this is the one to get.
I read ALL the reviews both pro and con on the Brabantia Ironing Board. Many were very helpful. Some of the reviews complained about the packaging....some raved about it....my experience was...the board came with a clear shrink wrap completely sealing the board, not in a cardboard box, only heavy duty plastic...the board was undamaged. The hot iron rest is a new experience and I like it. I have had built in ironing boards for more than 40 years. My last move forced me to hurry out to buy an ironing board...big mistake, I disliked it. It was too light weight, the cover wasn't secured and kept coming off the board when I moved fabric...and sitting on a bare wood floor the whole board would move as I pulled fabric on or off of it....happy to say I got rid of THAT board and the Brabantia Size B is a dream replacement. It is wider than the cheap board and with the hot iron feature gives even more space when ironing table cloths. The Brabantia feels like the quality board it is...the cover stays put...the board doesn't slide on the wood floor and it isn't so heavy that folding up and putting away after each use is no problem...after seeing reviews about the patterned covers I decided to get the Ecru and am pleased with it. The cost in the $70 dollar range was fair for the quality, in my opinion.

Safe and Sturdy
My gravity-fed iron had a tendency to fall off my old 15" T-leg ironing board because of the weight of the cords. I actually used a set of clamps to keep this from happening and to keep my house from burning down. When I saw the 4-legged Brabantia Size C board with 'ice water' cover for only $96, I decided that I should take advantage of the low price even though an 18" board was really too wide for the doorway where I hang my water tank and do my ironing. After just one ironing session, I changed my mind. Between the 4 legs and the extra 3 inches, this ironing board is extremely sturdy. Even though I may bump into the board more frequently, the Iron is never in danger of falling off. The solid iron rest probably makes the board heavier, which may also contribute to the sturdiness. I chose it because I was concerned that hot water would drip through an open rest and burn my foot or my floor.
