I’ve been using a high quality dado blade made by a highly respectable company. I switched to this one because it was recommended by SawStop for my saw and keeps the blades from creeping closer to each other. My other one was kind of difficult to get adjusted for just the right width. This one has magnetic shims which make it much easier to get them onto the arbor without getting caught up in the threads. The white plastic spacers click into the outer blades and the cutters and they all fit together to keep everything where it should be and keep the teeth away from each other. It’s safer with a SawStop if the brake triggers because it’s all locked together. Other blades can shift after a brake firing which could cause teeth to hit each other and possible dislodgment of them and cause flying carbide teeth. Not a good thing. I’m impressed that this is the only European certified dado blade currently on the market. I guess there’s no American certification for dado blades that I’ve heard of but don’t know for sure. I like cutters are laid out for a smooth flat bottomed dado. The included guide for shims makes it easy to set it to just the right width. My other one had a guide too but it was always off a bit causing me to have to take it off and add or remove a shim. I got this on sale and it was an excellent price especially for the quality. I can sell my old blade because it’s in such good shape.

Great Dado set! Finally replaced my 35 year old Craftsman Dado with this one. I've only made a few test cuts but appears to work great, making clean cuts with no blade ridges or tear out. The shims are somewhat confusing which I'm sure I'll get used to. On the upside, the spacers do allow for a wider cutting range down to 32nds vs other sets which only go to 16ths. What's really nice is the locking spacers which allow you to put the set together with everything locked together vs installing each cutter one at a time on the saw.

Buy buy buy buy!!! Pay the money!! I am telling you!!! Pay the high price of these they are worth every penny. They lock into place, no movement. Safe AF!! Ask yourself what is your face, hands, eyes worth to you?? Because the old, non locking datto blades are so dangerous, after using these as as if we were playing in clown shoes using the old style

I bought this to replace my older stacked dado set because it was not suitable for my new SawStop table saw; The old one had full size chippers which made it very massive. SawStop tech support informed me that with that much rotating mass, if the brake activated on the saw, there was a good chance that the arbor would actually bend from the rotating torque. This set weighs less than the SawStop branded Dado stack, (which retails for quite a bit more), so it should be okay. The locking mechanism is unique and kind of cool once you get used to it. It only took me two tries to " dial in " the right width for my application. Very nice. The only complaint I have is that the shims are not labeled for thickness; easy enough to remedy with a sharpie and a micrometer.
