20 Feet...Really Guys?
The guys who have rated this toy at shooting 20 feet must also be telling their wives and girlfriends what twelve inches looks like...This thing shoots perhaps ten feet if held level and MAYBE 15 feet if held on a 45 degree angle to the target, and is all but worthless for the suction cup bolts (which are extremely heavy given how lightweight the bungee string is) to stick to anything beyond about 4 feet. I would try and restring with something a bit heavier but the limbs on the bow would probably break given other reviewer comments.Having said all of that though, three of five grandchildren fight over it...and unless you keep expensive, easily broken things out on display when the grandkids are visiting, this toy can be used indoors with relative confidence that it will not destroy anything (or hurt pets or other children)...otherwise it would have rated only one or two stars, and probably should anyway, because of how expensive it is relative to quality.

Doesn't work
This is a toy. Which I expected. However, trigger does not work. Can't shoot arrows. I needed for a Halloween costume and will do for that, but don't buy if you expect function. And YES, I turned the safety, both ways!

It looks really cool but it's not built very well.
Bought this for my son for Christmas. I opened the box and heard loose pieces. Thanks God I was able to find one piece that flew out of the box. The other piece fell out in front of me. Was 2 screws that came out. If I lost these, then this would be unusable.Once I replaced screws that fell out, and then installed it.After 1 day, the string is already beginning the fray. The Scope is NOT a scope at all. It is not even hollow. Its a light. Nowhere on box does this say it requires batteries. Don't even know where to install batteries. Nothing on box or on amazon does it mention what type of batteries it takes. My kids likes how it looks. But it simply does not perform very well.Looks Cool. Poorly packaged. Poorly put together. Tricked us cause there is no useable scope on it. Title says it has a scope.

World's okayest toy crossbow
Looks exactly as depicted, except the tip is not orange/red. Mine was black. Size is accurate if you're aiming for a 1:1 replica. It's "military" because it has a pseudo camo paintjob. As far as functionality goes, for kids this is fine. Mine came with three suction-cup darts. The cups were big. They only shoot about fifteen feet before velocity drops, and it drops in a hurry. My kid beaned me in the head with a dart from about five feet away (purely by accident), it stung a little bit. I'd recommend this to cosplayers -- I'm turning mine into a bowcaster for a wookie cosplay.

read the description!
We used this as a stage prop and it is exactly what we wanted, it gives us a firing action with a string that our girl can draw easily. It is exactly what I expected after reading the description, Realize that this is basically a toy, and not a fantastic deal on your kids "first real crossbow". it is designed to work like a real crossbow, you could think of it as a trainer. I cannot picture this doing any real damage to anything other than a paper bag but it does fire a projectile so don't be an idiot.

Kids Military Camo Crossbow
This crossbow was purchased for use as a costume prop and it looks pretty "real" for a toy, which was my intention all along. I've to admit the suction cup bolts are fun to shoot at walls and such. The item seems sturdy enough for use as a prop and the few "test fires" indicated that the bolts and crossbow work fine.I recommend this product for costume prop or for anyone with children who may be interested in pursuing crossbows as a trial run.Update as of 04/04/14: Don't store the bow ready to fire/taut as the bow sections completly sheared away from the connector bolts and plastic mounts. It was resting on a shelf by itself and I didn't think the tension would be that much of a factor as this was a toy bow, etc.

It had a working "laser" scope on it (just a red light that shined like a flashlight)
Had this exact crossbow from Bass Pro Shop. It had a working "laser" scope on it (just a red light that shined like a flashlight). When my son tripped and dropped it, the arm of the bow broke in two. Since it was only a couple days old after receiving it as a Christmas present, he was crushed. We decided to order this one as it is just like the previous one. It came looking identical, except the "laser" scope is non-functioning on this one. Identical, but with no flashlight guts. What a disappointment. Luckily the old scope fit on this one and we could move it across. Not really expecting this one to last any longer before it breaks in two.

Don’t let your babies waste their money
Broke the first time my foster son played with it. Very disappointed because he had used his allowance to buy this.
