Unsane [DVD] [2018]

I decided to watch the beginning of this film purely because of some of the bad reviews & of the way the film was shot on an i~phone & to see if the negative reviews were justified. I ended up watching it from beginning to end because I thought it was an excellent film & a gripping story. I can hardly believe that this got any negative reviews! It was on a par with a book you pick up to read & then can't put down again. The story was very plausible & the acting was excellent & I can hardly believe that it was shot on an i~phone! I also think the ending was good. It wasn't a happy ever after ending but then not all life stories are. I'm not going to say anything that will spoil this film for anyone else, but it is definitely worth a watch & it won't be a waste of your time. Enjoy. :)

I was intrigued to see what a film made on an I-phone would look like, sure enough the distortion in the film was almost criminal at times, nonetheless. Solid acting performances though the signal that the protagonist is true and not a product of delusion came too soon. There is no doubt in my mind that the film would have benefited from better equipment though some of the shots were cinematically sound, a lot was basically fisheyed. Overall a worthy watch and I feel value for money has been given. As a filmmaker this film has convinced me to stay away from an I-phone for all of a production some of it looked very cheap and amateur - but this was more than compensated by a good story with many twists and turns and superb acting. Definitely worth watching.

The ending

This film was as brilliant as it’s trailer made me think it was gonna be, and I heard the whole movie was shot with someone’s iPhone camera recording as well, really amazing and brilliant! it’s a movie that kept me glued to it and had more twists and tribulations that a BOEING 747 airways route map!!.... Mmmwah Hahaha..hahaha..ahhhaahhha..It had it’s scary times and I was actually scared at the scary scenes that were up for most contacted..and how real they sounded!!...

Unnerving drama, where you're not quite sure whether the protagonist's fears are real or not for some time into the film. But here's the thing, in my opinion the truth is revealed just a little too soon, and I think something was lost along the way. The tension that was built up so painstakingly was given up just a bit too easily. However, it was very well done and creeped me out regardless of any minor plot holes and foibles, and I'm sure it will stick with me for some time.Filmed on the cheap - on an iPhone no less - which gives the whole thing an air of unreality, but well acted and well worth watching.

Excellent film. Uncanny accuracy about similar situations of murder in mental hospitals in Northampton which were observed by the American intelligence and shown to the Head of State. Eye-opening how the whole film was made on a smartphone.

Pasta pot suggested this for lockdown movie night. We both agree that being stabbed in a main artery would result in death. Also, was this film a GCSE media studies project? probably the worst film I've ever seen. The plot was good and it had the potential to be a really good film. However, shooting a film on an iPhone 7 is like making scrambled egg in the microwave.. just because you can do it, doesn't mean you should.

Waited it to end quiet early- which is not a good sign,if I want to like a film.I'm sure there is a morality tale in there,somewhere,but I think it failed on so many levels, I won't bother watching it again.
