Since I started working on dirt bikes when I was an early teenager, I've just used a Philpips head #2 screwdriver or bit and ALWAYS wondered why they round out so easily. I just assumed it was my ape-like hands doing something wrong. Well I recently watched a video of someone rebuilding a Yamaha carburetor and he mentioned JIS bolts, and that they're designated with dots on the heads, and I immediately knew I needed to get a JIS driver before the next time I worked on my bikes. However, JIS screwdrivers are NOT cheap! Especially if you want a set for different sizes. Fortunately, this bit set popped up in a search and was much more affordable so I gave it a shot - man I'm so happy I did and so thankful that sellers offer this type of money saving option. However, even though the price is low compared to the full screwdriver options, the quality and durability don't seem to be impacted. The bits fit the JIS bolts VERY well - so much better than I knew they were supposed to be since I've always used a phillips head driver! They fit my previously owned magnetic driver handle perfectly so dimensions are the same as all the other 6-point driver bits you come across, and my driver handle was able to grip it as expected, allowing me to put appropriate torque into the JIS bolt. Really easy to use as well - they work just like all the other driver bits you come across and even held it strong with magnets catching it in my driver handle. Now, I just need to make sure these don't "walk away" from my toolbox at the hands of someone that doesn't know they aren't just regular phillips head bits. To mitigate that, I wrote "JIS driver bits - DO NOT USE" in paint marker on the side of the bit holder.... really hoping that keeps hands off.

If you own a Japanese made scooter, motorcycle, or automobile, there's a good chance that it contains JIS (Japanese Industrial standard) screws. These screws look very much like Philips screws--but using a Philips bit in them will often mangle the heads, because they're designed for a slightly different shaped screwdriver head. This JIS bit assortment, which includes #1, #2, and #3 sizes, works exactly as it should. These bits grab and hold JIS bits like no Philips screwdriver can. As an added bonus, they also work well with Philips fasteners. it is well worth the expense to get the right size bits for your fasteners. Do yourself a favor and give these a try. You will not want to go back!

A good set for your tool bag on your motorcycle that's cheap and doesn't take a lot of room for Japaneese built bikes

Works great! For japanese engine and carburetor. Use these. it resist stripping the screws

For those of you that work on any kind of carburetors, especially Japanese standard, those are not Philip screws, those are JIS screws Japanese standard. These will not round out your the falsely misinform phillips head screw Philip screws that are almost always stripped out because the wrong tool is used. These are great.

They fit JIS screws, but have little grip as they are smooth.

Went from struggling to not stripping the screws with my phillips bits on my Japanese scooter to them just coming out with no problems. I don't know if they could hand an impact driver, but I didn't need one after buying these. Buy the right tool for the job.

For Japanese style motorcycle screws, the JIS tips are what is needed. These tips were able to loosen screws that had been damaged prior to me getting the motorcycle, and I was concerned about checking the clutch and brake fluids. The tips loosened them just as they should and caused no more damage. The sizes seem to cover most items I would need them for. I used a regular 1/4 inch socket to put the tip into and they gripped the screws very well, making it easy to get the screws lose. The tips seem to be of reasonably good quality.
