Better than expected! I have used quite a few things from Micro Ingredients now and have come to love and trust them for high quality products. This one is no exception. It tastes great and isn't too salty. It is a very high quality. Although it is not cheap, it is a good value for the quality. It mixes into things like pasta and rice quite well, but it is also convenient to sprinkle onto things, like popcorn or other things add that cheddar flavoring. It has a good shelf life and the resealable bag helps it to stay fresher longer. The grandchildren like the vivid color. It is just a very basic, Better than expected! This stuff is delicious! Idk what to say more about dried cheese, except that it tastes great and I think you should buy it if you like a solid cheese flavor that doesn't kick too much. While I forget what I bought it for, I've been on a soup kick and have been adding it to my soups to flavor them (being very lazy) and somehow went through the entire bag in a little over a month. It mixes in very well and can be used in many recipes that contain any cheesy/fatty flavor profiles. 2 lbs seems like a lot, but it is a very reasonable amount if you like cheese. Some other reviews mention the coloring and the fact that there are dyes in here, however I did not really care either way. The food dye makes it a solid homogeneous orange-yellow color, and if it could speak would say: "HELLO I AM CHEESE, THIS IS THE COLOR YOU EXPECT AND WANT YOUR CHEESE TO BE". If you are somehow concerned about the color and aesthetic of your food that you are using this in, I can confirm that this gives it an instructive cheese color, or else you don't really care, the color doesn't really matter either way, isn't off putting, and is all around fine.

I have to say, this cheddar powder packs a delightfully bold, pleasantly cheesy and clearly cheddar forward tang. Absolutely packed with rich REAL cheese flavor and the powder is a lovely shade of orange, reminiscent of the wheels of aged extra sharp farmhouse cheddar cheese fresh from the market. The powder is very smooth. I've only noticed clumps when mixing in COOL water (I don't recommend doing so). It is aromatic, soft and fine to the touch. The bag contains a generous amount and it will go very far in many recipes! One of my home favorites is using this powder with nutritional yeast to create delicious homemade cheez cracker clones that honestly are so worth a try!

Definitely an above average cheese powder. It tastes great, more in line with a standard off the shelf Mac. My only complaint is it doesn't always dissolve well into my sauces. I'm not sure what the whey protein is supposed to do but it doesn't affect the flavor at all but it all doesn't add much protein especially since you only eat a little at a time.

I got this for my bariatric surgery because I am already tired of sweet protein drinks. It mixes well and gives a nice cheesy flavor on my popcorn, and in my soups. The protein count isn't too high so I add in flavorless protein to hit my goals

This stuff is great! At first I was concerned about the color, but it actually made it fun. I made a batch of bread like I normally do added a few tablespoons of this, a teaspoon of fried garlic, a teaspoon roasted granulated garlic, topped it with egg wash and cheddar cheese. The color is funny. It reminds me of the orange fingers you get when you eat Cheetos or nacho cheese Doritos. My kids call it #Cheetobread lol. For lunch today I made a sandwich with smoked turkey, bacon, avocado ranch seasoning, cheddar cheese, lettuce and tomato. 😋 I'm very happy I made this purchase and I think I will purchase in the future again. This product is inexpensive for the amount you get. If you're swayed by the color then this isn't for you. It looks like you're typical Kraft mac and cheese powder. It has a nice cheddar flavor and is not salty. A little goes a long way. Also made some homemade cheddar mac n cheese with air fried chicken thighs, cantaloupe and a side salad (pictured). Super easy dinner. My kids said it tasted more creamy. The only thing I did different was adding 2 scoops of this cheddar powder. I pressure cooked 4 min 2 cups of macaroni, drained, added margarine, whole milk and 2 good handfuls of cheddar cheese, S&P, about 1 tbls of sugar and a few dashes of Badia complete. I can see how this could be used in a lot of other ways. Sprinkled on baked potatoes, air fried potatoes (pictured) or popcorn, maybe on some roasted broccoli...any root vegetables or soups. It's a fun way to add the flavor of cheese without the liquid and oil. This could never replace cheese if you're looking for ooey, gooey meltiness. This is a great substitute and can be used in many ways, plus it is shelf-stable. Try it.

I was looking forward to this item as it is advertised "with Whey Protein" so I assumed it would have a higher protein count per serving. I should have looked closer at the image that shows the nutrition facts. I can eat a cube of cheese and it has more protein that this powder. Haven't even opened, should've read reviews before purchasing. Will likely toss it out.
