Easy on the ears (and eyes)
Bought a banjo at an antiques store which came with a beat-up Remo weatherking head. I can't emphasize enough how much BETTER this new head sings. Wanted a warmer, more mellow tone for playing with an open back. This head delivers while looking like the moon. I stopped playing only to take a photo. 😀

and tone is pretty good. Using it on open back Gold Tone ...
This banjo head makes the sound less snappy, a little more mellower a littleless sustain so does what I expected. Have at a tension so bridge can be felt on the backsideof the head a little, and tone is pretty good. Using it on open back Gold Tonewith medium gauge strings. I may dink around a little with the tension butoverall the head does what it's suppose to do.

Nice classic fiberskyn banjo head
Nice classic fiberskyn banjo head! Only complaint I have is they are now printing some details on the edge of the metal rim and its a bit annoying to look at until it rubs off. I believe its a part number and size or something....doesn't effect the head at all though, still works great as always and lasts for years.

Excellent sound and classy looks for any banjo
Perfect fit for an old no-name banjo I was doing set-up on, and it looks absolutely fantastic. Sounds excellent on the instrument I installed it on. Since it doesn't have a coated finish it should continue looking good for a long time, and I wouldn't hesitate to buy this again.

Know what you're buying
do not use this for a Scruggs style bluegrass banjo. The sound is much more muffled than any other head I have ever used it seems to be of good quality but I think it's only for open back melodic style playing

How to measure for your banjo
I had some trouble with this. My old banjo was 'about' 11". Remo has heads in 16ths of an inch and the final head that fit was 10-13/16". You need to measure the outside diameter of the pot. Take off the old head. One precise way is to measure the circumference and divide by pi. Thank you Amazon for taking the 11" in return. I bought the 10-13/16" from Smakula Fretted Instruments. They had it in stock.

I am very happy.
Agréablement surprise par cette peau synthétique qui est beaucoup plus jolie que sur la photo du vendeur.Nicer than the seller's picture. I am very happy.
