Fantastic DAC amp
I bought this DAC amp to see if I could attach an Iphone to the amp in my living room sound system, with the right cable I connected it straight into an RCA input. I've got to say the sound quality is excellent and if your interested in hi-res music you'll know that wiring direct is the way to go. Apple music can now be listened to at its max quality of 24-bit/192 kHz and in Dolby Atmos (which is notoriously difficult to do) on a decent set of speakers that do the sound justice. For the price I can't fault it, quality seems to be good and it also comes with connectors to convert to USB A and lightning so it covers a multituded of devices.

Great bit of kit.
A no brainer really to improve sound quality and volume of wired headphones. Volume on my phone dropped significantly when using good quality wireless earbuds after Android 15 update so it's back to wired earphones for me. Significant sound improvement and no volume issues now with this fantastic little gizmo. My only worry is the fragile cable so I'll be wrapping it in electrical tape to protect it as best as I can.

Great sound and good value
Size and build are good. The audio quality is only marginally less impressive than my desktop DAC. It loses a star as it drains my iPhone 16 pro battery quicker than I would like.

Small but powerful!
Simple in use. Powerful device. The sony xm4 gained boost in quality - ive thought they're great but we're not using their full potential. Great little device worth the price!

The ifi go link max hi Res balanced usb dongle dac
I've always been a bit sceptical of Dongle DACs can they really be as good as they say .well I can definitely say paird with my smartphone the difference in sound quality is night and day I've always used the headphones output on my phone for music and when I plugged the ifi go link max into my usb c output the difference really is night and day better volume levels better sound quality and dare I say it the warmth in my music through my headphones blows me away very happy with the Dac the only worry I have is the durability of the fixed cable but so far no worries.if you use over ear or inner ear headphones this Dac will elevate your listening enjoyment

IOS issue requiring Windows firmware upgrade 🧐
I bought this after researching a suitable DAC to use with my iPhone & iPad. After receiving it and plugging it in I was underwhelmed to discover no discernible improvement to sound quality, and the volume was noticeably reduced. On changing volume there was also a distinct imbalance between L/R earpieces. More research indicated that this is a known issue with Apple/IOS devices, and a fix can be found with a Firmware update. Unfortunately this is Windows only and I am operating almost exclusively on IOS. I tried updating via my wife’s laptop, but after unzipping the files they wouldn’t run correctly and so no upgrade for me. It was all TFD by this stage so I returned for a refund. IOS caveat emptor. Sub optimal 👎🏻

The iFi Audio Go Link Max is an excellent upgrade for anyone using high-quality headphones. I use it with my Bowers & Wilkins headphones, which already sound great on their own—but adding this DAC made a big improvement. The soundstage opened up, the separation between instruments is much clearer, and the bass became tighter and more controlled. For such a compact device, the performance is impressive. It delivers clean, powerful audio and brings out details that weren’t as noticeable before. This little DAC really elevates your listening experience. Overall, it’s a 5-star product and an amazing addition to any portable setup.
