Looks great, measure twice.
As someone who doesn't really work with tools very often, I had little trouble mounting this spice rack. I bought two of them to put in a small corner of my tiny apartment. We have very few cabinets and our spice rack took up an entire cabinet. That was one cabinet out of 4 usable cabinets and two of those were already occupied with dinnerware. Needless to say, cabinet space was prime real estate in our apartment. The two spice racks came on separate occasions. I had put up the first one and realized that I really liked the look of it and decided to buy another one. The second one came slightly rusted, but we were able to return it to Amazon for a new one. I don't know why it was rusted, wonder if it was just in the warehouse for too long. Like I said earlier, I've never really mounted anything to the wall. I ended up mounting it to the drywall and hoped it would stay up. I used some plastic screw anchors to try and minimize the damage. I guessed and checked for the right size drill bit and then hammered the screw anchors in. I would advise having someone help out. The unit was a bit heavy for me because I was trying to hold it steady with one hand while trying to mark the wall with the other. I ended up slipping and mismarked a hole and proceeded to drill anyways. It was off so I had to redrill 4 new holes slightly off center to make it work. Don't make the same mistake I made, measure twice, drill once. Of course, I'm sure most people aren't as careless as me. In any case, I get many compliments on my shelves and it almost looks like decoration rather than something practical. It fits most spice containers. I've found that it also fits the smaller Costco spice racks such as the smoked paprika and the cayenne red pepper if you put them sideways. But they're harder to pull out and you would have to put them on the end of the unit and pull them out sideways. It doesn't fit the square Costco containers like the garlic powder. Which is understandable since who buys so many spices from Costco anyways? *raises hand* Unfortunately it didn't really help with our cabinet situation because we've been buying more spices since we have more room in our cabinets. But now the cabinets just house our collection of Costco spices and the spice rack holds everything else. We keep soy sauce, honey, and maple syrup on the very top shelf since there is more clearance. All in all, I really love the spice rack and it looks much more impressive for the price.

Love my new spice rack! Its just what I needed
I have an extensive array of spices since I make most everything from scratch (food allergies). I used to keep my spices in my cabinets but when I moved in with my boyfriend, there just wasn't room in his cabinets for my spices. He has a very small kitchen and after trying a variety of other options, I realized I needed a spice rack that would hold about 30 spices. Two of these works just fine, we have them stacked vertically like one of the other reviewers photos shows. I was worried they would be flimsy but they are solid and strong. Many of my spice jars are glass, these racks have no problem supporting their weight. The bars don't bend when I put in or take out spice jars. The bottom row of this spice rack has slightly more vertical space in it than the other two rows, I use that row for larger size spice jars. I really enjoy that the shelves are slightly deeper than a lot of spice racks, I'm not stuck with the small glass jars or other special sizes only. I have a mix of small, medium and large jars and even a couple of small Tupperware containers (star anise and other odd sized spices) in the rack. It has a good design for mounting and comes with mounting hardware: both for drywall and for wood. Now that I have all my spices where I can see them, they are actually much easier to work with than in the cabinet even though my were neatly organized (alphabetically at that). I can scan the spices and quickly find which ones I want. I often cook without recipes and just season based on what I want to create:being able to look at all the spices helps me improvise and is inspirational. Update: Oct 2012 We just put up the spice racks in our new apartment. The hardest part of putting them up was deciding where to put them. Two or three years from now, we will be taking them with us to our next house or apartment. Taking them down, moving and putting them back up didn't bend them out of shape. Much sturdier than the 'rubber coated' wire versions I've seen around.

I bought 2 of these wall-mounted spice racks for my pantry. They are chrome, good quality and have a solid feel to them. They came with screws for hanging as well. These racks hold the normal size spice bottles, for information purposes here I measured the diameter of the largest bottle that it can hold and that bottle size is 2.5" diameter (in my case a flax seed bottle), so quite convenient for a variety of item sizes. The racks were delivered within the time frame specified and even though the box was not packed with any type of bubble wrap or insulation, the racks were in plastic bags and not damaged in any way. I'm very happy with these racks as they help free up shelf space in my pantry and look good at the same time, great buy!

From the picture, I assumed that the item would arrive rack plus empty bottles. Only the rack arrived; is this normal? If not, I am due 15 empty spice bottles. If yes, then the picture is very (perhaps criminally?) misleading.

This spice rack is very sturdy and will fit up to 15 6oz spice bottles. I like that you can put taller bottles on the top shelf. It looks great too. A++
