Doesn’t damage the outer heatshrink sleeve
Does the job nicely, no damage to the outer heatshrink sleeve after crimping the ferrule, normal crimp tools always seen to compromise the outer sleeve but these don’t

Works well but not with uninsulated automotive crimps
Nice pair of crimps but doesn’t work with uninsulated automotive crimps. Works well with solid but crimps.

I picked up the Klein Tools 3007CR Crimping Tool specifically to crimp heat shrink connectors while building out my ham radio box and battery power box projects. As expected from Klein, this tool is solid, precise, and clearly built to last. The crimper has a very sturdy feel, smooth ratcheting action, and delivers consistent, reliable crimps. It fits perfectly in the hand and feels like a professional-grade tool. Klein continues to uphold its reputation for quality – this is definitely another great Klein product. This is one of those tools I expect to buy once, cry once, but honestly, the price wasn’t even bad for the quality you get. It’s built to last and feels like something that’ll be in my toolbox for many years. ⚠️ Note: This crimper is specifically designed for heat shrink connectors, so make sure that’s what you’re using before purchasing. 🔧 Key Features: Designed for 10–22 AWG stranded copper wire Full-cycle ratcheting mechanism ensures secure crimps every time 3-cavity crimping die optimized for heat shrink connectors Comfortable, ergonomic grip for extended use Excellent build quality from a trusted brand (Klein Tools) ⚠️ Disclaimer: This review reflects my personal experience and is provided for informational purposes only. This tool makes nice, strong crimps. I was replacing well pump wiring and these were just what I needed. I didn’t want to pull pump and water line up 90 feet out of the hole again. Do it right the first time.

Klein Tools 3000CRKIT Ratchet Crimping Tool Set. It comes with 4 Interchangeable Dies for Heat Shrink, Non-Insulated, Insulated and Ferrule Terminal Connectors. The handle is comfortable and can be used for hours without hand fatigue. The dies are held down with screws, instead of being quick disconnect. This is an inconvenience for some, but I prefer it. I know that the die will be held securely, even if the tool is dropped accidentally. The tool is well built and is easy to use and works well. Klein tools have always been durable, and I hope this tool lives up to their reputation of quality and value for the coin.

As a marine mechanic, crimping heat shrink crimp terminals, is a very common task for me. Some dats, I do nothing but wiring for 8 hours. We have a similar tool to this at work, that I use every day. Knowing that I have some wiring work due on my project car (stereo, gauges, etc), I bought this tool because my own personal ratcheting crimper is substandard, and the one at work, spoiled me. I chose this one because I know that Klein is a trusted brand for electrical work. I read the reviews and one think that concerned me, was a few comments that said they were hard to use- physically stiff. That was actually true for about the first 5 or 6 crimps, requiring two hands. Then, they loosened up- and now it's brilliant. You can hold the crimper in your dominant hand, place the terminal in it, and squeeze it a click or two- just enough for it to hold the terminal- inset the wire with your other hand, and boom-done. Just as it should be. This makes good solid crimps, and doesn't damage the heat shrink insulation. The crimps were mechanically strong, no fear of them falling apart. I did use all 3 sizes that this tool is capable of. Paired with good- quality terminals, you're set. They're a bit large, but not overly so. This gives you good leverage while still being able to work in limited space. Five stars. Definitely recommend.
