Not as Fresh as Expected
The packaging looks great, but unfortunately, the coffee itself is not fresh. It appears to have been improperly stored and roasted quite some time ago. The coffee is not vacuum-sealed or properly packaged to preserve freshness. I recommend buying directly from specialty coffee roasters instead. If you already purchased it, store it in an airtight container to prevent further deterioration If you’ve already made my mistake and bought the coffee, at least keep it in an airtight bag (like a zip-lock bag) to prevent further deterioration.

Let it go.
No taste, no flavour.

Great idea for trying exotic coffee, but expensive and not sealed.
I ordered the Magdalena coffee since I enjoy the characteristic mildly fruity flavor of Colombian coffee. I was surprised how well I could smell the fruitiness just taking this tin out of the Amazon packaging. Once I removed the ribbon, pressed the little button to open the lid I understood. There were a few coffee beans on top of the unsealed plastic lid covering the coffee beans. The plastic lid had 3 little (1/4") stickers to hold it down, but they were not adequate to keep the lid on, nor would have "sealed" this package of coffee beans that has a best by date 2 years from now. The beans are light colored and I suppose lightly roasted so fairly weak coffee with 1 tablespoon. I tried pour-over, french press (once for 4 minutes and another for 6 minutes) and in a stainless k-cup with 192 degree Keurig. SO expect to use a couple of tablespoons to get a rich dark coffee. The flavor is as expected, fruity, mild, not acidic, and very pleasing. The price.... $42 for 8.8 ounces. By various methods of calculating ounces, beans, etc. I expect this $42 package will probably make around 35-40 cups of coffee at 2 tablespoons of grounds per cup so about $1/cup of joe' I'm not a coffee snob, so $1/cup is excessive in my opinion. If money is not a factor and you would like to try some very unusual coffee beans - this is an incredible opportunity. I don't doubt the validity of the sourcing since I hope that is the reason for the high cost. The packaging is also really great and would make a nice gift solution. I'm going to reduce 1 star for the lack of a sealed package. Other coffee I have purchased like this is packaged in a sealed air-tight container.
