Clean, Pure Vegan Protein – Great Quality, But Unflavored Means Get Creative!
I’ve been looking for a truly clean vegan protein powder with no additives, & no Cholesterol---No artificial sweeteners, or fillers, and Naked Rice delivers exactly that. It’s literally just one ingredient: organic sprouted brown rice protein. No cholesterol, no sugars (natural or artificial), no junk—just pure plant-based protein. That’s a huge win for me, especially compared to so many flavored proteins loaded with extras. The texture is surprisingly smooth for a rice protein. It mixes really well in a shaker bottle or blender—no gritty clumps like some other plant proteins I’ve tried. I get a nice, creamy consistency when I blend it with almond milk. On the downside, it’s completely unflavored, so on its own it tastes pretty neutral (think very mild rice). There are no other flavor options available, which means you’ll definitely want to mix it with fruits, berries, banana, cocoa powder, or whatever you like to make it enjoyable. I’ve been throwing it into smoothies with frozen berries and a splash of vanilla extract, and it works great that way. Overall, if you prioritize purity and don’t mind adding your own flavors, this is an excellent choice for vegan protein supplementation. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a minimalist, high-quality option!

❤️❤️FODMAP PEOPLE-BUY THIS
My stomach can’t take A LOT of foods so I was on a hunt for a staple in my diet, which I found. BUT it’s so pricey (not this rice protein) especially for my household, with my diet being separate from my spouses. So I was looking for a fluffer to make my meal replacement shake last longer but still keep its flavor and this does that PERFECTLY. Would really recommend others who deal with sensitive stomachs to try this out because this has been a life changer for me. I use 1 scoop of my other meal replacement and one scoop of the NAKED rice protein then add 1 block of ice and 8 oz of water, blend, done. I read some reviews about the powder settling on the bottom but I’ve had 0 problems with that this way, I might even add another scoop of NAKED rice protein because I’ve been dropping weight fast. Personally I love the protein quality there’s no crazy after taste or grit to it. I’ve waited to try a couple times and see how it settles in my body and it’s very easy on the stomach with 0 inflammatory effects. Dissolves easily. And aids in appetite suppressing, which before I found my other shake and this addition I was having the WORST cravings and just always hungry and this combo has completely ended that for me. I LOVE the packaging, the other one that is actually my biggest con of there packaging is terrible but this one is very convenient. Thank you so much for creating such a great product and hope more fodmap people are able to find this gem ❤️ hoping to purchase the bigger size when I come into more money thank you 😁 *PS it usually fills up this cup entirely or I have alittle extra when I make it with my recipe above - I had just already drank it down :pp also the other shake creates a frothy top almost like whipped top :)) but that is from my meal replacement not this protein additive ❤️

Too good to be true? That certainly might be the case.
So I don't really review things on amazon, but I feel that this product merits some time in writing in actual review apart from what others have written. To begin with, this is without a doubt a great tasting protein; i'm quite surprised for the fact that as a plain plant based protein, it does not taste like crap. Financially speaking, this is a cheap product when one accounts for the cost/lb and the amount of protein that you get per serving along with it being an "organic" product, and when you spread that across many other kinds of protein strands available on Amazon you'll see that this is a good deal to be had especially when one sees that the market is more or less homogeneous for protein in general. I went ahead and bought this product from Naked along with their chocpb and casein which I felt were a great deal and I was pretty hyped to get my hands on this based on all the stellar reviews that were here on amazon. Shortly after, I out of my own curiosity went ahead and did a bit of research on plant based protein and was somewhat alarmed by some reviews and some sources stating that contaminates that could possibly be prevalent in plant based proteins just like this one. Though then again, there isn't much research out their to warrant this being the case (along with everyone's opinion on the matter which is quite open-ended), however what really caught my attention was in which this product is being marketed as an organic product. The reason that this alarmed me is because when I went on the USDA's organic integrity database, I tried to search up this company where their name didn't pop up anywhere in their database. I then went to CCOF's website (the agency Naked claims to have been certified organic from) and searched their registry for this company and nothing popped up. It is at this point in which I was dumbfounded as to how something like this could have happened. I then emailed Naked and asked them who they were doing business as to verify that this product truly is organic in which they told me that they are labeling their product as organic based upon their co-packer, meaning that this product (from whoever the third party manufacture is) supposedly has registration with CCOF as being certified organic. Private labeling isn't a problem, and heck, if that means that I can get protein much cheaper i'm all for it. The only problem is that Naked told me that they don't provide the name of who their supposed co-packer might be which to me sounds highly suspicious and concerns my own well-being as to if I should be taking this in the first place. I mean I can understand if you as a company don't want to provide the name of your third party manufacture so that your competition finds out in regards to your strategy (which is pretty reasonable when one looks at how fragmented the market is), but not being transparent to that point gives benefit of the doubt to many things they are claiming. Surely it was my own sheer ignorance that I did not do my due diligence before buying their products, but I think that those who are going to go ahead and purchase their products ought to think twice: They label their product as organic when their name doesn't pop-up in any data base (in which they claim that their product being organic is a fraudulent claim in itself), they state that their product is "HEAVY METALS AND MELAMINE TESTED: Our Naked Organic Sprouted Brown Rice Protein is independently tested by third-parties for heavy metals and is melamine free" (which is pretty much contradictory since they are privately labeling a product that clearly isn't manufactured by them, so what claim back's this up?), lastly, on their 5lb product they use seals to label that this product is organic but why not on their 1/lb product? I had a lot of hopes for this company and this product as the exact value proposition of what this product claims to be when its not what it is. "Naked Rice: Premium Organic Brown Rice With Nothing To Hide" ought to be more like "Naked Rice: Premium Organic Brown Rice With Many Things To Hide" Caveat Emptor......

I also needed a change.
I don’t usually write reviews but figured I’d help someone out before they make these purchases without being able to return them. I needed to get away from the typical protein shakes plus I’m more of a savory person. Seed: It is made from sunflower seeds and it smells and tastes like it. It’s a bit creamy and thick. Since it’s a very earthy taste, I mixed it with a matcha latte. I think it would pair well anywhere you would add seeds like an açaí bowl. Rice: Old plastic smell. Think of an horchata without anything. It was watery. It easier to drink without anything out of all three. Like an horchata the rice goes to the bottom. It easier to mix with soups without changing the taste much. It does change the taste though. Pea: Oh boy, the smell and the taste of this one was a challenge. The only one that made me gag. It was super thick like a loogie with no real taste to it. Had a hard time thinking of how I could add it to something then all I could come up with was pea soup. It worked well. I think just mixing it with some type of broth will do the trick.

Extensive research, stomach and heart disability, best on the market
FODMAP approved. I have food allergies and a heart disability that calls for careful choices and research before consuming something. I drink this every morning (did lots of research and consulted with my gastro and it's the best on the market) I usually have a backup and buy the smaller amount for freshness so when I went to reorder I was shocked to see it's no longer available. Rd customer service. Jessica was awesome and they're not sure it'll come back but I was assured it was not pulled off the shelves due to contamination (I was hospitalized after using another brand and they had to pull it off the shelves to investigate). Please bring back soon! I'll order a few lol. Running lower and lower on the one I have but instead of ordering another kind I'm waiting till I must order more protien powder checking in daily to see if this is back yet. Could be less expensive but worth it considering it's pretty much keeping me alive. That's priceless. I've tried diff brown rice protien powders for over a decade and this is hands down best I've had. It is heads above other powders as it is fresh and has a high balance of nutrients and Omega profile. My weight goes up and down so I need that good fat to help with skin elasticity. I am in process of becoming a certified dietitian. So much research. It is the next obvious step. Please bring this product back soon! Happy clean eating! (Update -when it was first return to Amazon there was only a 5 lb available so I immediately ordered it. I'm so glad I did had no idea what was to come in these uncertain times but as long as I had my protein I felt confident and comfortable but I wouldn't starve. I also have noticed that many people have said it has a cardboard grimy taste. That may be true if you haven't been trying plain brown rice protein for 10 years now. It's absolutely normal for it to have that tastes and usually indicates that it is fresh. However this particular protein blends so well into liquids that I don't feel the need to put milk into them or almond milk or any kind of flavoring actually. I put mine in 12 oz of cold coffee and it makes it so creamy I don't need any kind of flavoring or cream to make it enjoyable. now the only thing I have to worry about is not chugging it too fast because it's so amazingly good. I highly recommend choosing your favorite coffee and saving enough for a shake the next day and you using that as your liquid for your protein powder. Not many people have heard of that but I've discovered that it is a very low-maintenance and fun way to consume this powder :-) choose was a fun coffee flavor! but you must shake it for one minute I make Google time me and I shake that thing up until it's nice and creamy and I wake up looking forward to drinking this everyday. Now I am subscribed and saving at 5 lb containers when I wasn't sure before it was only buying one pound containers. I know this is the best on the market please do not let comments about it's tasting dry or like cardboard turn you off. There are ways to get around this and I used to think it was a bad thing but it turns out it just means it's fresh and that's a very good thing :-) )

My All-time Favorite Vegan Protein Powder
***I am in no way affiliated with this product or the other products mentioned in this review.*** Firstly, I should tell you that I have experimented with MANY vegan proteins. I've had a lot of trial and error, and this one is by far my favorite. It's not often that I rate something with five full stars. "Nothing is truly THAT perfect", my inner cynic nags me each time I review something - but this time, I feel that it's appropriate. Let's get straight into why it's so great! --- What I love about it: -NO ADDITIVES! No questionable ingredients that I can't recognize or even pronounce. It's just brown rice protein concentrate from sprouted brown rice. This is SO important, not just for your overall health, but for the sake of your digestion. Many protein powders I've tried contain fillers like inulin, which, while still derived from a plant-based and natural source, can cause stomach upset for some people. I happen to be one of these lucky ducks. What's worse is that pea-based proteins can cause digestive issues for some people - also including myself. Awesome, right? Needless to say, this protein has been a life-saver! As you may expect, no additives does mean that it won't taste great by itself. It's a common complaint that vegan protein powders taste terrible, but I feel that this one is somewhat of an exception to that. It's definitely not delicious, but it's not NEARLY as gag-worthy as most, either. It's bitter on its own, but hides well behind just about anything you add to it. Be prepared with your own flavoring and sweetener for your drink or baked goods. I sweeten with NOW foods Stevia powder. If you don't like powdered stevia I highly suggest SweetLeaf's Stevia drops in vanilla, vanilla creme, or caramel - or even just the plain one along with some vanilla extract. Get creative. Blend it up with some peanut butter, or what I personally prefer - a simple teaspoon of cocoa powder. As long as you add a sweetener, you can add any flavor you want and this protein will be almost undetectable. -IT'S VERSATILE! Not only can you drink this protein, you can also bake with it. Before going vegan, I used to try baking with Whey. Those of you who have tried to do that know how much Whey dries out your recipes. With this protein, it's little different than a flour. All you have to do is substitute part of your dry mix for some of this protein, and you won't be able to tell the difference. Attached in this review is a picture of some vegan banana oatmeal cookies that my daughter bakes with this protein. --- What I don't like about it - and there isn't much: -Due to how dense this protein is, it tends to settle in a drink. All you have to do is make sure that you shake or stir your drink every few minutes so that you don't leave a pile of protein at the bottom. Not a big deal. -There is a bitter aftertaste, but as I mentioned, it isn't noticeable if you flavor it. -It's messy. Something about this protein makes it magically get everywhere, where other proteins don't. It's as if it's especially sensitive to static or something. I can't explain why, but I can tell you that you should have a washcloth nearby.

Was By Far the Best Organic Brown Rice Protein Out There... until September 2023
This is by far the best organic brown rice protein out there. It's not powdery and flour-like at all like some inferior brands. It's more textured and nutty flavored like rice. It blends up great in the blender with just about anything. I mix two heaping scoops with acai, spirulina, cacao, flax seeds, chia seeds, banana, blueberries, and sometimes pineapple or other fruit to make a quart sized thick breakfast drink. No matter how I blend it the result is satisfying and delicious! The only downfall is that it's quite expensive... but..... you get what you pay for. September 2024 Update: The product isn't the same as it used to be. On my last two orders I received slightly different jars that were narrower and taller with the product inside changed. Now, it could best be described as finely ground white flour. It used to be brown in color, relatively solid, and have a wonderful nutty texture. Looking at the pictures other reviewers posted you can see how it used to be and the difference is stark bow. Now it's like overly processed white flour. It doesn't have that wonderful color or nutty taste or solid texture anymore. It's so processed and fine that it dusted up all over the kitchen when I tried to get a scoop out to put in the blender. It was even on the curtains! Now it tastes like nothing. It used to be nice and thick and flavorful. It's just not the same anymore. I liked the old product. Now, it blends watery and has no flavor. Total bummer! I reached out to Naked to share my experience with the product change to see if they were aware and might be working on a fix and their response seemed pretty rude. I suspect they could either care less or were getting lots of similar comments. They did nothing to address my concerns. It's clear they are over processing the rice now and it's ruined the product this once was. I have since found another organic brown rice protein powder of equal flavorless and dusty quality for much less money. I paid more before because it was a better product and wasn't like the other over processed products out there. I'd come back to Naked and be willing to pay the higher price if they fix this product issue and produce the good product it used to be. Until then... I will miss it very much.

Good protein powder if you can digest rice protein
As far as rice protein goes, this is the best one I’ve had. It is a very fine powder. Two scoops = 25g protein, zero sugar, 4 carbs, 0.5 fat, Love that! The scoop is small compared to most so I like that I don’t have to put 1-2 huge scoops as with some other plant protein powders to get 25g protein. I mixed it in my Vitamix blender with plant milk, berries, ice, and a small banana. It mixed up/ dissolved very well. The texture was smooth, not gritty like many rice protein powders are. It is slightly chalky but not enough to be a deal breaker I think that’s just what rice protein is like as well as most plant based proteins. I like that it’s only one ingredient and is easy on the stomach. Some reviewers said the container isn’t filled to the top. Mine wasn’t either but then every protein powder I’ve bought is not filled to the top so it’s no different than any other. I like it so far. UPDATE: although this is low fodmap it caused really bad reflux for me later on. I can’t digest it well, as sometimes can happen with rice protein in some people. Sadly, I’ll have to return it.
