Excellent customer service and product guarantee!!!
I had this for 5 months and it malfunctioned and it would not dislodge from the docking station. I called the customer support help line and although it was frustrating going through all the procedures to get it unlocked from the docking station the tech was patient and walked me through the process. In the end we were unable to get the unit dislodge from the docking station. The company eventually sent me a brand new unit without hesitation and honored their warranty after all else failed to fix the problem. I got the new unit within a day and am back to cleaning the house. I would give them 6 stars for their responsiveness and assistance through the process. If customer service and honoring warranty is important to you, as it is to me, I would say you won’t go wrong purchasing this robot vacuum/mop. FYI, prior to the unit malfunctioning, it worked well and kept my floors and carpet very clean. Thank you Shark for your help, excellent service, and great product!!!!!

Returning ASAP
I've had an older Shark robot vacuum for several years & it works great - never struggles with area rugs and works well. I decided to upgrade to a Shark robot vacuum + mop combo. Out of the box, the "never touch" 60 day model AV2800ZE was easy to set up & I love the ease of access to the clean & dirty water tanks. So I set it up, sent it off to map the house, and was underwhelmed by the way it struggles to go over all the area rugs. Doesn't matter if they're thin, thick, lightweight, or have non-slip (heavier) backing - every time this robot transitions from solid surface to an area rug, it "trips" (my old Shark robot has zero issues with these same rugs). At one point I heard it in the hall sounding obviously stuck on something and when I went to investigate, it was stuck on a corner and tangled in the hall runner to the point that it frayed my new area rug! I decided maybe that was just a fluke & I'd let it finish mapping the house then send it for an actual vacuum session & see if it improved once the "obstacles" were known. I will say it does vacuum well and even though I'd just vacuumed with my upright vacuum, this little robot still managed to find more debris so in that regard, it's fine. But the area rugs were still a struggle. I've posted a sped-up vid of sending the robot to vacuum a specific room and in the video you'll see it tripped over the area rug, made a few passes, then inexplicably decided it was done in that room and sent itself back to the dock (it was fully charged & did not need to empty any debris). It barely vacuumed 1/5th of the room and was less than impressive in the way the area rug outwitted it. And if that wasn't enough, I sent the robot to mop the dining room and it left entire mapped areas untouched before deciding it was done and returned to the dock. Finally, although my old Shark and this new Shark use the same SharkClean app, the interface completely changes for each device. The old Shark has an easy to use interface that allows me to actually map each room the way I want it to map but the new device somewhat forces what it thinks each room is, then makes me "separate" rooms and then merge them back together - hard to explain but it's just frustrating that the new device doesn't have the same functionality in the app as the old one - and it's bizarre because I toggle between the two Sharks in the app and the interface totally changes from one to the other, and not in a good way. So for $800 I expected this to work just as well if not considerably better than the $200 Shark robot vacuum I've had for 5 years but it falls short in every way. I had such high hopes & was beyond excited to buy & use this new Shark I'd splurged on, but I'm so disappointed with this purchase. Will be returning it promptly and sticking with my old Shark robot vacuum and a regular old mop, I guess.

Works well
I bought this as a gift for my niece to help her keep her apartment clean. The apartment is an unusual shape and also hosts three cats and a German Shepherd. We have encountered two small problems with the product The first is that the robot would not start its exploration run where it maps the rooms. The app showed an animation indicating that the mapping was in progress, but the robot never left the base where it was charging. Canceling and retrying yielded the same results every time. Eventually we force-quit the iOS app, and this time the exploration worked and built an accurate map of the entire floor. The second issue is that the robot failed to remove the dirty water of the first mop cleaning into the gray water tank of the base. Instead it spilled onto the floor around the base. But this turned out to be human error: the lid of the gray water tank of the base wasn’t completely closed, preventing it from producing the suction needed to lift the water up into the gray water tank. Other than that, the robot works really well. It required minimal assembly to put into service, it is quiet, and vacuuming and mopping work well. It has handled obstacles, irregular boundaries and rugs well, even when the edges weren’t lying flat.

Love this vacuum!
We have had a roomba for about 15 years now. The one was had was a “dumb” model, it only knew where it was by running into something and missed huge pieces of the room every time it ran which caused us to have to go around and sweep and vac behind it anyway. This shark went on sale and I figured it was time to take the plunge. I am glad I did! Set up was easy, connect the app, let it map your house, and that’s about all. You have to fill the clean water tank and then it’s ready to run. It was neat to watch it map the house. As far as in use this thing is great. It’s extremely quiet compared to the one we had previously and also compared to a normal vacuum. It does a great job of cleaning going back and forth in rows and not missing areas. It also doesn’t bump into anything which is nice! When it’s done with the vac portion and it docks the internal vac on the dock empties the dust bin of the shark and it’s ready to go again, you just pull off the dust tank of the dock and empty periodically. The mop feature is also excellent. Before you mop the first time allow the shark to run “carpet detect” in your home and it’ll find the rugs and such and avoid mopping them in the future, it’s amazing. It mops just as well as it vacs, in rows, not missing areas. When complete it goes to the dock and empties the water tank, cleans the pad, and starts charging to prepare for the next run. The dirty water tank needs to be emptied and cleaned from time to time but that’s pretty simple. The nastiness in this tank will show you just how well the shark is cleaning! The only “thing” about it is that I don’t see how anyone can go a month without cleaning the dirty water tank, the dust bin, and filling the clean water. We have a small house and we have to do those things at least 2-3 times a month. Perhaps if you’re cleaning a single room, I don’t know. That’s not really a complaint though, just a mention since it is advertised as not needing anything for a month. All in all this was a great purchase, worth every cent, especially on sale. If you’re thinking about it just go ahead and buy. This vac absolutely delivers on what it says.

RUN AWAY - Serious quality issues with the mop water buckets - constantly leaking and cracking.
UPDATE: my initial review was 5 stars and opinion of this robot was quite high. However, after 4 months of ownership, I’ve started to have nothing but problems with this unit. The clear water containers used to hold the mop water have serious quality control issues. I’ve had the base mop reservoir replaced under warranty due to random cracks that formed in the plastic on their own, constantly leaking water into the base. Soon after, the robot kept giving error after error, not running as expected, always giving an error stating an issue with the flap (error number 9), and again leaking mop water from the robot. After an inspection, I found more of these cracks in the clear plastic on the mop reservoir for the vacuum itself, one of which actually caused an entire screw mount to completely break off causing the flap to not function — so this component also got replaced under warranty. Now just a couple weeks since my last base reservoir was replaced under warranty, I have cracks yet again forming in the plastic. I’m not doing anything crazy here. I have hardwood floors. I replace the water when it runs out. Mops twice per week, vacuums once per day. Nothing out of the ordinary at all. There’s a serious quality issue with whatever plastic materials Shark is using for the clear components. And here’s the best part — now that I’ve had to call numerous times for this very obvious defect, Shark customer support has told me THESE PARTS ARE NOT UNDER WARRANTY. WHAT?! Apparently they only cover the “base” and “robot” itself. Nothing for these water tanks. So I guess they think these are consumables? Either that or Shark is very aware that these components are junk and are just trying to charge their customers for them at this point to recoup their costs. If you push back on them, they’ll eventually offer a free part, suggesting a goodwill effort, but still make you pay for shipping. Honestly insane. I purchased the product. I expect the product to function. I should not have to bear the burden of any additional expense because of defective parts. I’ve had to escalate this issue through Shark’s support to their head offices. I think they’ve got an issue leading all the way back to their manufacturers. Until this is clearly resolved and addressed, I cannot recommend this product to anyone. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Performance The vacuum and mop functions work exceptionally well, especially in a home with a dog. Running the vacuum daily and the mop every three days keeps my floors nearly spotless. It handles 90% of the floor cleaning effectively, leaving only 10% of edge and baseboard areas for occasional manual cleaning. Convenience The self-emptying vacuum and self-cleaning mop make it a “set and forget” device. During a full clean, it typically returns to the base once to empty dust and refill water. Navigation is excellent—it finds its way back home without issues. My 1,500 sq ft main floor uses just over 50% of its charge for a complete vacuum and mop. Obstacle Handling The robot handles most obstacles with ease and navigates tight areas efficiently. I’ve only had to rescue it once when it picked up a clothes hanger left on the floor. Mopping Efficiency The mop pad agitates back and forth for a thorough clean. The spot-cleaning mode is particularly impressive, as the bot moves incrementally and spins to ensure deep cleaning in the designated area. App and Voice Control The app communication can be slow and unresponsive. Once an action starts (e.g., spot cleaning), you’re locked into the sequence until it finishes. This can be frustrating if you make a mistake, like selecting the wrong room or cleaning mode, since there’s no way to interrupt or override the command mid-process. Alexa integration is disappointing—most commands are met with confusion or failure to execute. Noise Level The vacuum itself is quiet, but the base is quite loud during the self-emptying and pad-cleaning process. You will not want this running while you sleep because the self empty is going to keep you up once the vacuum gets back to base. Maintenance Switching out the mop water and emptying the dust bins is simple and only needs to be done every other week. Summary Overall, this Shark robot vacuum mop cleaner excels at automating daily chores, though the app and voice control could use significant improvement. If I could knock the review down a half point for this, I would. However, its performance and convenience outweigh the minor drawbacks, making it a worthwhile addition to any home and warranting a 5 star review. Easily one of the best purchases I’ve made in a long time.

Device is fine, Support is inadequate
We've had this robot for a couple months now, and I'm very pleased with its performance. However, one glaring omission is Shark's documentation and instructions. I received a notification from the robot to "Fill the Clean Water Tank". Nowhere in the product user guide, setup, or support documentation will you find any reference to the "Clean Water Tank", which means I need to "guess" how to fill this (ie, the mix ration of cleaning agent and water)...a very strange omission for a 2-in-1 vacuum/mop appliance. I would expect a link in the above notification to take me directly to the specific instructions to address...or perhaps a small diagram of the required steps...but nothing at all. The link takes me to the SharkClean support website, which then requires me to find the product in question, sift through their manuals, and ultimately not find the simple information I needed (ie, how much mop fluid to add to the Clean Water Tank). Additionally, the robot naturally links to a SharkClean account, which is generally set up by one person. I have no way to add multiple people to help manage the robot, receive notifications, or send commands...just me. That's another strange Quality of Life omission that could be solved easily with a short development sprint by their technical team. Again, I should stress that the robot itself works wonderfully, and has met all demands we've placed on it...including the ridiculous amounts of shed from our 130lb mastiff. The intelligence of the design and the durability of the build only highlight the strangely inadequate Ease of Use support I expected to see. After all, this robot can see/map my rooms, vacuum, and map, and do those things around our daily use (dogs, shoes, furniture moves, etc)...but it can't tell me where the Clean Water Tank is, or how much mop fluid to mix in when I fill it. That's just plain weird.

Sturdy, Functions well, smart
Definitely get the app for the Shark, and it will basically solve all the little problems and nuances. The app is pretty easy to use for the most part but then again, I might be a little more tech savvy than most. I would follow the instructions to a T to not miss anything. When it does the mapping, make sure you have everything set in your home that will remain on the floor so things like paper, keys, and stuff remove all those things if it's not affixed to or going to remain on the floor and then have the shark go through and map, everything. If it's a rug is bigger than 4 or 5 feet, then I would highly encourage to keep it there while keeping in mind, the shark may get stuck if it's not flat or has, I guess like adhesive or furniture to keep the rug or carpet to the floor. A lot of people mention problems about functionality. I think this is the most easiest thing I've ever used in terms of tech. I love how the shark actually lifts up over things to the point where I have almost lost it going out the door because I have the door open. It basically reminds me of one of those robots that is utilized with the police department but maybe not as tech savvy as nasa, but it does lift over stuff that is of anywhere, from half an inch to an inch. You can even set the shark to clean on a schedule. But I caution that because if you're not home, it may get stuck, and the battery may die if you're gone for more than 6-8 hours. It's generally not a issue.I just have to go find the shark at its last known location & then I pick it up and unstuck it and send it to the dock or I have to manually carry it to its dock. Keep in mind if you have pets.I would weekly clean the shark out to ensure no pet hair gets stuck in there. This product is incredibly sturdy and functions.Incredibly well, as well as cleans vacuums and mops, while dumping all its debris and its containers so make sure you dump out the clean and dirty water.

returned
I bought this and another vacuum/mop at the same time. The Shark was twice the price. I got it all set up and it immediately would not work. One wheel would not spin correctly so it wouldn't run. I called Shark customer service and ended up returning it to Shark and they sent me another whole vacuum. Customer Service was helpful and did try to make it right so that's why I gave the 2 stars instead of 1. It took 3 weeks to get the replacement. I opened the box, got it set up and told it to do the mapping run. It stopped twice during the mapping run, saying the side brush was stuck. I removed the brush, cleared anything one it (dust) and restarted it each time. When the mapping was finished, I tried to let it vacuum. It would not run more than 3 minutes before giving that error again. I'm just returning it to Amazon now because Amazon will make it right and I cannot wait another 3 weeks for another replacement from Shark. It seems like the side brush is a bad design. The brush seems like it is so long that it gets stuck in the wheel of the vacuum. I removed the brush all together and it ran faster and lasted a little longer, but still ended up giving me the same error. I give up. I didn't even get a chance to try the mopping function. The other vacuum was a roborock Q10 S5+ Robot Vacuum and Mop. It vacuums well but the mopping isn't worth the trouble. If you need a automatic mop, I think you're out of luck!
