Gripmunk - Black Tie Affair for iPhone 16 - In short - Perfect! After some obsessive research seeking to find a case which met my equally obsessive criteria I eventually arrived at Smartish! The Gripmunk appeared to tick all the boxes. Those same boxes remained ticked when it was delivered. Great, really nice thought through design, which I've not seen in a case before. The undulating finger grips feel good and provide a feel like no other case. The texture of the sides is spot on for a secure feel and extends just enough at the edges to add to the feeling of security. (Others often leave a small smooth 'margin'! Why!) Also the texture extends around the corners top and bottom - again just very well thought through. With a screen protector there is still a small rim of case to protect the screen. All in all the case looks great and feels great (and secure) in the hand). The camera guard is perfectly executed. The buttons feel nice too. The ports at the bottom of the case are rounded - another thoughtful touch. The icing on the cake though and also in my tick list is the look of the case. It is easily one of the best looking cases with a minimal design. Minimal sounds easy but look at other cases and compare. This is done with the same class as all the other subtle but useful design elements. There is branding on the case but it is subtle and doesn't spoil the minimal aesthetic. I guess Smartish don't need to shout to get our attention. Instead they just make a good products. Smartish are an American company and I think are not a particularly well known brand in the UK. It's a shame because my experience leads me to say my Black Tie Affair is maybe one of the best cases I've owned for any phone! The cost in the UK is a bit higher than in The USA but the company ethos is to keep their products affordable. I am more than happy to have paid the Amazon price and not have to worry about import duties etc. I'm sure the Gripmunk will meet my needs but anyone requiring something more rugged might wish to take a look at the Gripzilla. Also a small point, there is no plastic in the packaging. I appreciate great design and Smartish have taken care to produce a case which sets itself apart from the competition. For something so well designed I think it's good value for money. I am happy to recommend the Gripmunk to friends and family. I hope some of the above information is of use to anyone considering this case. My first Black Tie Affair!!! and not my last... Well done Smartish...

Good case, fits well, looks good and seems to offer decent protection. Although it would have benefited from a screen protector.

Excellent case and one of the very few that provides protection around the vulnerable camera button.

Used on my brand new phone and it has protected it from several drops. Everyone has commented on the design too which is nice Would defo use this company again

Solid phone case. Simple design. Fits perfectly. The camera cover is a bit fragile though as it breaks quite easily.

Bought the black one to match my iPhone 16. It’s really good. Great quality. Feels nice and doesn’t slip. Really good grip around the edges. Buttons nice and crisp. Worth paying a bit more for sure. Recommended.

Very thin and durable

The New York Times rate this as their best case. The magsafe works really well. Just a shame that it has to be sent from the USA. Good protection including for camera lenses

This case is exactly what I was looking for. Good protection with an attractive and unique design (I got the one with the diagonal color stripes). I find it’s just textured enough to not be slippery, but it is still easy to take in and out of my pocket. The fit, buttons, and cutouts are just right. And it’s made in Austin!

For someone never seeing this Gripmunk case or holding it before, I’m impressed, and my teenagers in family gave thumbs up, so I purchased several more for them. Definitely sleek, very well fitted, excellent grip and not bothersome texture but you know it’s in your hands. There are several finger depressions on each side helping to increase feel and grip. Case fits your screen protector with a lip protection. Rear lens also protected with full ridge. Buttons are case color material, wish they were aluminum/ colored, but they feel great and are clicky. The side wall is thinner than I’d like and I wish there was some shock cushioning; as I was coming from OtterBox Symmetry. This seems a great case to maintain slim profile, and protects against basic bumps and everyday handling, and uncertain on fall protection. Definitely not like a Defender or Mous or other similar heavyweight cases.

I bought the black rim with transparent back. Looks very classy. A little pricey, but looks sturdy and phone does not slip from your hand. Buttons lined up and works except for the mute button that does not slide on and off with the case. Don’t know why it says waterproof as the phone is still exposed. It’s supposed to have a limited lifetime warranty, which is a bonus.

Love it. Love the little touches - soft bottom, grippy side, raised edges. Fits just right and looks great too!
