Creative fun introduction to mechanics and programming
This set is a good way to introduce concepts of mechanics and programming to young Lego afficionados -- robot building instructions are similar to standard Lego guides, and the pieces fit together in similar fashion.I ordered this set for my grandson. He loves Legos and was excited to get started on building, so he opened all eleven different parts packs and mixed everything together, first thing. This gave us an opportunity to discuss the importance and utility of first reading instructions and familiarizing ourselves with kit contents before diving right in.The finished robot is entertaining enough to play with, and illustrates useful basic programming concepts.The only thing I didn't care for so much was the relatively high asking price (~$90 at time of writing) but I noticed the seller is offering a 50% off coupon, which makes this set a much better deal.

Johnny 5 Is Alive!!!
Yes, I very much got this because of the resemblance to the iconic Johnny 5 which my son also loves. It was a blast to put it together and play around with it's basic functions. We are now getting more into it's advanced features and it's been a great experience.

Its okay
As far as a building block set, it is fairly fun and easy to put together. The pieces lock together snugly and feel like a name brand product. The app is a bit glitchy but it works. After all is said and done, I don't think this set is actually worth the hefty price tag. The one nice thing about it, is that since the pieces are interchangeable with other sets, you can build something neat with a bunch more pieces.
