Big Thanks to Dontnod - for awesome game
Dontnod Company - again made for us a Great game. Did hard and great job for us. And actually - I don't have any problems with game, not crashing or freezing like others mentioned in lowest score reviews. Little about the game -- Not ordinary or linear story - very interesting to follow, you have to make your decisions. Great made voice acting. Interesting written Dialogue conversations. (Not simply bla-bla about nothing - like exist in many RPG games), in this one interesting to listen. Very detailed made 4 Districts of London, especially West-End District with great looking environment and interior inside houses and many other Great things...I am playing friendly with NPCs (citizens) completing their quest lines, healing them and without embracing them. Combat - is little clumsy sometimes, but anyway overall game is awesome. When you learn it, game is not hard even You are always under-leveled. Do side quests, earn some XP and Enjoy the Game. Experiment with skills. You can reset them - if You are not satisfied. First time for free. Can share some advises if You struggling with difficulty of game: About skills to use -- Suggesting: Most Important skill: Autophagy Lv. 2-3 - You will able to heal yourself, Shadow Mist Lv. 2-3, For Ultimate skill: Abyss - help with bosses and big enemies. Also using few others: Blood Barrier (not often) and Coagulation (this one very helpful against regular enemies and Boss fights - it freezes them for 3-5 seconds, depends on Lv.). With those skills don't have now any problems with progress of game and saving citizens. About weapons: Linston knife (You can get on beginning of Chapter 2, in Morgue) - very fast absorbs blood which needs for using the skills. Very powerful weapon - is Mace (found in sewers in hidden Hideout, Chapter 3, when You first time meet friendly Scals). Myself using more Hatchet and Dragonbane sword for now, Mace is too powerful (upgraded), kills everybody almost in few hits, not interesting (I currently in middle of game, in chapter 4). Ranged weapons like pistols or shotguns - is up to You. Very powerful is Milton's Shotgun (upgraded), You can buy it from him in Hospital area. Or embrace him - if You playing in different way (killing NPC), then will be for free. Update: At the end of Chapter 4 - You will get Remarkable Saber - fully upgrade it - great and very fast melee weapon with decent damage to deal. Hope this will helps others and will make game much more easier and enjoyable. And Sure --- Big Thanks to Dontnod company - for awesome game.

Great game so far
I played the game for 8 straight hours after the initial update on release day, so I think i have a pretty good grip on the mechanic of gameplay and the core premise.... wow. This is the vampire game that fans of the supernatural have been waiting for. The “clunky” gameplay that people were worried about is actually very satisfying, the atmosphere is suspenseful and tense, and it really connects with you. A select bunch of people I entirely committed myself to coming back later and embracing them for xp, once you find out more hints, it really opens your eyes and forces you to second guess yourself; all the while at the same time making you feel the disadvantage/advantage of sparing/killing these citizens with a demanding combat difficulty. Only issue is I didn’t receive my dlc code for preorder. That being said, i have no problem buying it from the store as I am now a supporter of dontnod and their efforts to support this game. Already anticipating a much more in depth and fleshed out sequel that i can sink my teeth into.

An Excellent RPG
Vampyr is a narrative driven RPG that puts you in the shoes of a doctor who happens to be a vampire. This truly is the perfect set up as you are torn between saving lives or taking them. Like the Withcer 3, in terms of narrative, your dialogue selections dictate the out come of conversations, and influences future endevors. The world consists of about 60 NPC's who all have their own stories and dialogue, giving you a robust amount of conversations to be had. Every character is voiced, which is a huge plus and the voice actors did a good job. The combat is ok and could use some imporvement, but you can use special vampire skills, melee, and firearms. Enemies consist of lesser vampires, vampire hunters, and regular vampires. Visually, the game looks great, but the NPC's got little love and are slightly less than desired. The music is perfect for this game and the sounds effects are spot on. Also, the game runs good and does have some frame rate stuttuer occasionally, but not often (be sure to download patch). I also did not get my dlc but that is an Amazon issue, not the developers, so life goes on. The folks at Dont Nod did an outsatnding job for what they had in terms of budget and I would suggest you buy this game day one to support this small developer and to help them grow as they have a lot of potential. Besides that this is an excellent game and I'd give it an 8/10.

Fantastic story driven rpg
When I heard this was created by the devs who created life is strange I was confused, it didnt seem to fit. But this makes sense now. First off some are saying this is an action rpg, that is false. Instead it is a story driven rpg. The challenge isn't murdering the enemies, the game makes it clear that can be easy just kill some of the citizens, its for the greater good. Rather thr challenge is around that temptation and by extension the struggle of a world war I surgeon coming to terms with not just vampirism, but the also the events of that war. Infact its an easy game to lose and not realise simply kill without care and speed through the diaglog with care like you would an arpg. In many ways its like spec ops the line, except this provides commentary on the murder hobo like behaviour in arpg's. So far its a mastery piece of story telling.

Interesting story with challenging gameplay - Definitely something worth sinking many hours in.
Dontnod has outdone itself with this game. It has a really interesting take on vampires and a great plot, although it was somewhat predictable at times. The collectible text items were intriguing, and the lore in general was on par with other games of its type. The dark atmosphere was fantastic for the story, and I felt fully immersed in the game for the dozen or so hours I've put into it so far. I have completed one playthrough and achieved most of the trophies, though there are at least two or three that you will need a second run to claim them if that's something that's important to you. As for combat, it did leave something to be desired at times, but it's not so simple of a game that you can get by with just button-mashing, and I found that aspect to be really refreshing. Different enemies do have different weaknesses, so it's unlikely that most players will be able to get by with just using one key move through the entire game. Dialogue was ultimately good, though I feel that there was a bit of "emptiness" to the game if you're doing a pacifist playthrough, because while there are a few fetch quests, many of the citizen's problems are only solved by taking a life and it feels strange to exhaust all the dialogue options for each character and not have any other option to improve their situation. Overall I'd give this game a 9/10, and recommend it to anyone who likes choice-based games, open world games, or vampire lore in general. History and literature buffs will also enjoy some aspects of the game as there are quite a few interesting references around. However, geography enthusiasts may not be pleased, as I'm pretty sure that the layout of London is a bit inaccurate here. Shouldn't stop most people from playing, but I know some are picky about that sort of thing.

I really wanted to like it, i really did.
Cons - Poor mapping and completing side quests makes it a complete chore to do. All the roads of London have no real different between them, looking at your map every 5 mins to make sure you’re going the right direction makes it loathsome. When placing marker there is no dotted or trailing on the screen to tell you which direction to go, again with all the roads looking similar make finding where you need to go a complete pain. - No fast travel, Making your player travel to add game time really shows there is a lot left to be desire game content wise. - TONS of BACKPEDALING to make the game last longer proves once again shows this game lacks content. Go to one side of map pick up item/talk to person, now go to other side of map and repeat. No real innovation, and side quests are pretty similar. - The hint system, which plays a major part in the main story decisions. To acquire these hints you MUST either collect certain documents or speak to a certain person before speaking to main story line character. If you don’t you’re stuck with only two unfavorable choices that will negatively affect your ending of the game. There is no forgiveness or workaround for it, either you do it or you’re screwed, the game does not hint or indicate this in any shape or form. Super annoying not challenging. - Loads times are usually long for Ps4 game and the game is not that big, Assassin Creed games are 10x larger with WAY better load times if minimal load times. This game is excessive and long load times, not acceptable. - Gameplay they emulate dark souls, this is not an easy hack and slash, recent update allows you to change the game to easy now. Depends if you look at this a pro or con. Pro Story and the acting is really the only saving grace for this game if it was atrocious I would have gotten rid of this game by now.

incredible disappointment
I can't believe the reviews on this game. The graphics look like the previous platform. I know some call it stylized but given the lack of attention to detail its just dated. Load times going in and out of doors are laughable. Combat is hack and slash. The only way I can understand liking this game is if you would rather watch a b movie than read a book or graphic novel. This was not even worth the 20 $ paid for it 3 years post release. The overall impression here is lazy developers lacking respect for audience. At least it is consistent with the vampire theme in that it sucks.

Killer and savior: tough moral choices, decent action sequences, engaging story with plenty of mystery and twists.
I'm only on chapter 3, but so far, this game is amazing. The characters are written with the depth of real people, and the story is engaging. While this game has some action--and definitely some tough boss fights, especially if you decide to do a "Not Even Once" run like me--the focus is on interacting with the other characters, getting to know them, and making tough choices about who to save and who to kill. If you like moral choice and consequence, and engaging plot lines, this game is definitely a good choice.
