These are exactly as described and pictured. I was hoping they'd look better in person, but they really don't. Their hammered effect is more like evenly spaced dots; it absolutely does not look hand hammered. That is on me, however, for hoping for more than what was pictured. These are painted metal with a high gloss finish. Overall these are ok, but they are in no way a favorite.

I absolutely love these accent trays! I ordered these to go on a buffet/bar by the front door where they serve as catchalls for stuff… keys, mail, chargers, whatever. The color and the finish are flawless, unlike some other things that I’ve ordered. Sometimes, inexpensive home décor items like this look like they’re cheaply made, like the fast fashion equivalent of home décor. NOT THESE. These could have just as easily been purchased at a luxury retailer for 10x as much. No one would be able to tell the difference, even if they pick them up and inspect them. You can expect some damage to the finish after throwing keys in them repeatedly, but that’s to be expected, and they’re inexpensive enough to just order replacements when they get too scratched up.

I love the liquidy-smooth ultra shine/ glossy texture combined with the underlying deep steely metallic hammered/studded industrial type design~ it's like suspended liquid mercury, fluid & solid at once. The tray is pretty lightweight, not too thick but a size you'd be able to work in a lot of places & on shelves (and you get 2, which looks good side by side) however I wouldn't use these too much in a utility-type way, like keeping frequently used handsoaps, wet or things where you'd need to do a lot of cleaning (unless wearing the finish isn't going to bother you) because they are more delicate/ only cleanable via warm handwashing + mild soap. So wear & tear would be possibke with heavier use. So I'm more using them as the decorative art pieces they are, for display and organization and I'll probably have them for a ling time so will be interesting to see how they wear :) They'll still fit my aesthetic I'm sure!

I like the black color of the trays. They will match many decors. Many uses for these in any room. The size is what I was looking for. The finish isn't perfect but that is expected.
