Love the camera. Great Angles. Added my own Mini SD Card for storage. No need for optional subscription. Uses 2.4G Wifi as all Printers. I haven't seen anything that uses 5G. Very Happy with my security system. I paired with Alexa and my Swithbot Door DeadBolt Turner. Now I can see who trends outdoors, indoors and when they open my front door for maintenance. I have several Switchbot Cameras, both the 1080 and 2k versions of the outdoor camera, and some of the interior, and a bunch of smart plugs and temperature sensors. There are some really basic things that are missing in the cameras to equal the quality of the other devices. They need to improve the way the app conntects to the cameras, it's a bit quirky, but works once you learn what NOT to do. I have found that if you leave the android app, then come back, you might as well start the app over, beacuse it seems to never be able to reconnect. I have found that the battery and Solar Panel work well, making it through the night in the Winter in Colorado. This winter will be the 2nd winter on a solar based install.Generally speaking, mostly good on Switchbot, just wish they opened the door a little bit on the cameras, but hey, they want to sell cloud storage, to make some of their money back I would guess.Update 20241024I have several of the 2k outdoor cameras, and have had a lot of connectivity issues. I'm starting to think it's related to distance from the hub. The hub should not be required but if appears it is for the 2k camera. When the camera is near a hub, no problems with connectivity, not m but further away, I can not seem to connect. The other day I found this error message, trying to set the battery mode (see picture). I've contacted switchbot,, awaiting a response.

The media could not be loaded. Easy to install and configure. I am using as a people detector to turn on a water fountain !

Useless. It records events only with the app active on my phone. Tech support is not helpful.

I've gone over board on the switchbot stuff. The app again is what brings this camera down.Motion detection is fine, over looks my drive way Its very sensitive at close range. Battery life is great so far and the picture quality is great. The biggest drawback is the app. Trying to view the events or playback even live video from the camera the app is so slow. But other than that mounting, integration and other basics of the camera this thing works great. Just put it in a high spot because someone can grab it and go.

I love Switchbot products and own many of them. The first unit that I received was defective. However, after contacting their fantastic customer service, I was given a new camera that now functions perfectly.It is a great camera with decent features. With its sale price, you can't go wrong with it. You have the option of both wired mode or battery mode. The setup is easy, and installation is simple.The only small issue is that it does not have 24/7 recording; however, it does have good motion detection.Lastly, I want to emphasize how amazing the customer service of Switchbot is. They are kind, empathetic, and prompt.

I bought two of these to monitor my front yard and my entrance door. I have an outdoor WiFi router and camera reception was excellent. However 60% to 70% of the time the live video fails to download to the app. Motion detection is also not good and often misses detection even when I set the motion detection at high sensitivity. I ended up replacing the cameras with a different brand and getting excellent results.
