ok...but could be better
Test strips work but not the easiest way to compare colors to box/bottle. Would be easier with a laminated sheet of colors so if got wet it would last. Also the be careful with cheap plastic tube as it will crack very easy.

Works as expected
This kit was easy to use and the instructions were easy to follow. It took a minute to match the color of the test strip but this was mostly because there were no phosphates in the pool when we tested it, so it took a second look to verify that we got a negative result. When we got our pool water tested at the local pool store, their test confirmed that there were no phosphates in the pool, which verifies that our kit results were accurate. Works exactly as expected.

product was defective
I would never order this product again. It was defective and did not give an accurate reading of phosphates in the pool.

Works! Make sure you follow instruction.
Low phosphate is important to prevent algae growth. Most home kits do not test for this. This comes with a tube and container of test strips. The test strips do not work like typical pool tests strips, despite a similar initial appearance. To use the test, fill the included plastic tube with water, insert the test strip. Shake for 10 seconds, then wait 90 seconds. Remove the test strip and discard it. Hold the tube over the color chart on the container or box and view it through the top of the tube through the long axis of the sample to get estimate of phosphate. You don't get (or need) an exact reading; lower is better, ideally 100 or less. My first test was slightly over 100. I took the sample to Leslie's and their determination was 154. That is close enough for my needs. Time to add some low-phos stuff.50 tests for $20 is a good deal if you can't get to the pool store as much as you would like.

same as my local pool supply
These were very similar to the ones at my local pool supplier for a much lower cost. They seemed to work well and the readings seemed accurate.

Easy to use and convenient.
Instructions are on the box and on the bottle. This came in handy and worked just like regular chlorine test strips. You never know when the grandkids are using the hot tub. Highly recommend for an occasional check of phosphate levels.

The directions are not clear
Directions are not clear, at all. I tried having my husband test on his own a few days later and he was doing the exact same thing as I was, so I know it wasn’t just me. We were unable me to interpret the results.
