Good NAS for home use
Great product, wished it had the 2.5GBe link, or 2*1GBe link.

Good for personal home use
Feel slow at some time, not for heavy users. Max transfer speed experienced was 11 Mbps (roughly around 100 mbps). Haven't used Plex yet. Using 2.5" hhd for around 1.5 months now. Working fine for now. 2gb ram is not enough & ram is not expandable. Havey task use 94% CPU processor & 75% ram, extra ram is used from sweep storage (8gb) which make it slow when doing heavy task. Being a beginner, it's a little tricky to use. Overall good compared to price. Deducted 1 star for not adding Ram extension slot. Experience after 2.5 years of usage: Now using a 3.5"16 GB HDD (for storage) and a 256GB SSD (For cache and app install) for around 2 years. This setup is better than using two 2.5" HDDs. Still, I think two 16 GB HDDs will be best. Now I am getting transfer speed of around 40-70 Mbps (roughly 600 Mbps) within my home network. The QuMagie, Qfiles, and Qmanager mobile apps are handy for managing my photos and documents from anywhere in the world. Qsync is best for laptop file syncing and backup. Other advanced QNAP backup solutions and apps don't work due to limited RAM. Streaming service: Plex works natively; Emby needs to be sideloaded. I have been using Emby for around 1 year, and it's very fun to enjoy and use. (Not able to access remotely, ISP or router restriction, not sure) Jellyfin is still not supported. 2GB RAM and the processor provided are not suitable for transcoding, hence it is recommended to use the original video format to watch. (You can still access videos via QuMaggie/Qfiles, but the speed is terrible and skipping forward/reverse will get stuck at buffering). QuMagie: Alternative to Google Photos, but nowhere near it. Remote access possible, remote file upload speed 6-10 MBps. (on my Airtel 5G SIM) I recommend enabling the "generate thumbnail" option on the device used for uploading to save NAS resources. The face recognition feature works, but it is not accurate. Qfile pro: Alternative to Google Drive, working great. Don't push your NAS to it's limit. You may be stuck without access till the task is completed. Overall, great for basic home use. My 5 family members' camera photos & videos are backed up to NAS continuously. My laptop has multiple folders synced to NAS folders using Qsync. Emby streaming service is operational on 2 TVs and 6 devices. For efficient and uninterrupted usage, schedule thumbnail generation and streaming service library update for 2-4 AM. Though it remains silent most of the time, the noise can be bothersome at night if you keep it in your bedroom, especially during heavy task line thumbnail generation or library metadata update. Also, avoid moving large or multiple files (500 GB or more) to/from the NAS in a single go using a USB. Break the data into parts and transfer to avoid inaccessibility and overheating issues. QNAP support is also very helpful, but scheduling an online appointment/ remote assistance can take some time.
