A little treat for the three piggies.
Being used as a bit more of a treat for the guinea pigs, as they are selectively eating this muesli. I wouldn't use it as the main source of food as they leave some.

Firstly, this mix has been improved from the 2020 but….
My Nov 2021 review: Not sure how or why some customers have not received a 15kg bag as this is definitely the weight of the sacks I receive. They do offer a smaller tub of this mix (5kg) but I’m not aware of the manufacturer offering any other sizes. Some retailers will buy in bulk and rebag the product to sell on, so maybe this is what has happened to those not receiving a 15kg sack. The vit c content is still only 263mg/kg and still way lower than the minimum a product like this should contain for Guinea pigs of 400mg/kg, so that’s a real shame. Vit c is an extraordinarily cheap additive to include so it bemuses me why concentrate manufacturers of Guinea pig foods skimp on this vital ingredient. *NB: Their Dry Guinea Pig mix contains 263mg/kg BUT their Guinea Pig Nuggets contain the desired 400mg/kg? Why this discrepancy?! I keep many pigs and have had the opportunity to feed this Extra Select Dry Guinea Pig Mix for a 6 weeks trial after Amazon substituted this mix for the nugget version on my last Subscribe & Save delivery. I was disappointed to see this mix still contains colourant additives in the tri coloured ‘wheat extrusion’ lumps. Neither my pigs or I are looking for attractively coloured nuggets and would prefer to avoid unnecessary additives like colourants. Anyway, overall most of my pigs cleared most of their bowls over the course of 24hrs and the primary thing left at the bottom of many of the pigs’ bowls were both types of the tiny little pellets which the greater majority of my pigs just weren’t interested in eating - not even after everything else was gone several hours prior and they were hungrily waiting for a top up. (My pigs have access to ad-lib hay at all times, and are supplemented with a variety of cavy appropriate fresh produce daily.) Unfortunately, although I don’t know for sure, I expect it’s one or the other of these tiny pellets that contain the essential nutritional additives our pigs need and what qualifies this mix as appropriate for Guinea pigs. Unfortunately if the bits in this mix comprising the essential additives aren’t palatable then the Guinea pigs aren’t benefiting. 🙄 Have added a pic of the mix, showing the whole oats which my pigs rarely bother eating (although they love dry porridge oats) and the tiny pellets which 90% of my stock won’t touch and I find left with the oats in the bottom of bowls every day to throw away. Opinion: Buy the nugget version of this product instead! It’s a no brainer as it contains the higher level of essential vit c and, as a nugget, eradicates any fussiness. Sure, your pigs might sulk when you make the switch from mix to nugget, but no pig will starve itself to death and once used to the nuggets, mine were actually reluctant to eat the mix when Amazon delivered it instead of their usual nuggets. My 2020 review: Vit C content far too low. Okay, a varied mix, but contains things not much liked by g.pigs as a rule (such as whole oats) so not entirely palatable as some of the other mixes available BUT it is unforgivable not to contain the minimum vit C requirement for maintaining healthy pet cavy stock of 400mg/kg. Even when feeding a better produced feed containing 400mg/kg it is necessary to top up vit C by the provision of vit C rich veg and fresh grass and herbage, so anyone using this economy mix REALLY needs to consider just how much vit C their guinea pigs are getting each day and not just assume this bag of food is making a decent contribution; it isn’t.

They are addictive 🤣 and we'll be wheeked apon
I mix this with my guinea pigs normal pellets they enjoy digging around in the bowl looking for Thier favourite bits but I don't refill the bowl until they have ate all of it to ensure they are getting a bit of everything they need. (Too be honest this hasn't been an issue they devour anything haha) Just makes snack time more exciting and makes their pellets that are expensive last longer.
