Several hundred years ago, humans were nearly exterminated by giants. Giants are typically several stories tall, seem to have no intelligence, devour human beings and, worst of all, seem to do it for the pleasure rather than as a food source. A small percentage of humanity survived by enclosing themselves in a city protected by extremely high walls, even taller than the biggest of giants. Flash forward to the present and the city has not seen a giant in over 100 years. Teenage boy Eren and his foster sister Mikasa witness something horrific as the city walls are destroyed by a super giant that appears out of thin air. As the smaller giants flood the city, the two kids watch in horror as their mother is eaten alive. Eren vows that he will murder every single giant and take revenge for all of mankind. Review: Attack on Titan is Incredible - I love anime, but Attack on Titan was something I never thought I'd like, since I'm not big into action anime, but AoT is so much more, it is an EPIC series, and has the scale and scope of a lasting classic. The story is exciting, twisting, totally unique--I haven't seen anyone come close to copy this anime, AoT doesn't fit easily into any one genre. The animation is spectacular, just beautiful, every season is better. Highly recommended, the manga as well. AoT is also one of the best adaptations of a manga I've ever seen, makes the original content better in quite a few ways. The music is great, the Japanese voice acting is great, the story is great--I love it. The only downside is the English dubbing...kinda stinks. I don't tend to like dubs in general, but this one REALLY gets to me. Lots of voices that just don't fit, and overall the cast doesn't keep the gravity the original voices have. I understand why people want English dubs because you want to focus on the gorgeous animation, but I just can't stand the English cast, so I keep the subs. Review: So good - I love this book

It's in black & white?!?!?!?
I bought the DVD for a friend and when they put it in their free region DVD player, it worked in all but it's completely in black and white picture. I don't know why??

Doesn’t work
This garbage doesn’t work for anything but region b players, a complete scam something like that should be clearly labeled on Amazon and never sold to a region where it can’t be played

If you're going with the original japanese audio and the english subtitles - beware because the subtitles are messy. There are weird formulations, redundancies and mistakes here and there that makes it confusing to follow. I'm surprised with the relatively poor quality of the subtitles for an official release.

First time I tried to watch this show, I thought it was terrible. Eren was a whiney, irritating main character, Mikasa had no character, and only existed to follow Eren around like a lost puppy, and Armin was too immersed in his own self-doubt to be useful, or interesting. It was really hard for me to watch the prologue. Then they did something I wasn't expecting. I suppose I can't say what, as it would qualify as a spoiler; but in my opinion it instantly made me wonder, where on earth are they taking this show? After that I was hooked. The more I watched, the more questions I had, and there's always the sense that the answers are out there, but not easily to be had. I love the show now, and can't wait for season 3. More importantly, though; the manga has given me so many more questions, and frustrated me thoroughly, because I can't talk about what I know with all my friends who only watch the anime... so if you love the anime, my suggestion to you is READ THE MANGA... it's at least a season further on, and there's so much more to the story than we're aware of so far in the anime. Totally worth it...

Richtig?
