Hits the sweet spot of portability and sound and size
LOVE IT. LOVE IT. Perfect for the non-videophile. Great for parties or gatherings or having fun. Do not buy this if you are going to nitpick it. Sure it doesn’t have the brightest bulb or best resolution. But that’s not what it’s designed for. It’s designed for fun. With the built in speakers and battery you just plug up and have a night of fun. Couple photos are from a 185 inch view. It’s pretty dang good picture quality this huge! My remote works really well so not sure other reviewers comments on that. It just is super portable and fun. Grab if that’s what you want. If you’re not going to move your projector get a brighter and better resolution one. But if you want portability and ease grab this. The audio is so loud too. I’m moving up as this was my jump into projectors to see if I would like and I bring it out for my kid to have fun and watch a family movie. I move mine all the time so it was a perfect purchase. Just make sure you have the HDMI cable and if you need maybe a USB C TO HDMI cable if hooking to your computer or iPad.

Pretty good buy, super slick
I feel compelled to write a review about this projector, because I had extremely high expectations for it. It has mostly lived up to them, but there are some issues, for those who might like some more information. Some of this could be chalked up to "operator error" -- I'm not a visual-spatial person, so my tweaking of the projection angles are kind of sub-par, but it really should be easier to make this work. First, the good -- this projector is beautifully designed. It's sharp and looks better than anything out there. Also, the speaker is excellent IF you compare it to most projectors -- not using a cable to connect it to a better speaker with more bass. In comparison to my JBL, it sounds tinny, even with the bass turned up. However, again, it's far superior to many projection speakers standing on its own. The good news, is it does have an output to plug in a better speaker, if you want. I love interface and the corrective possibilities -- lots of controls to optimize screen settings and experience and they are easy to use. It doesn't seem bright, on paper, but I was watching a show with my curtains open and a light on. However, it was a bright show -- when I tried to watch a space movie, or something with darker colors, it was not quite bright enough. I bought a screen for it, so I imagine that could have something to do with the projection. Here are my pet peeves: it projects a barely perceptible border around the actual picture that doesn't move when you do the keystone correction, so you end up having diagonal lines that could bother someone with obsessive-compulsive disorder were that person (a friend?) trying to project a perfect picture inside a screen. It doesn't affect the picture -- it doesn't go over the picture -- but it's a little annoying. However, you can forget about it -- if you can. One other thing is, my particular camera tends to lengthen the top left corner when pointed upward. Again -- I don't know about angles, but it's not just like "totally easy," to get a straight picture. And the WORST thing about the camera, which caused me to dock the star is that the smart stand, on my camera, is not level. So, when you sit it there -- it just doesn't give you a level picture. This can be clandestinely corrected with some stacked pieces of electrical tape or a piece of paper, because it is slight -- but it's annoying. It should be level for $300. The panel for hook-ups is great, but I agree with the reviewer that said the USBC does NOT charge and carry information at the same time -- unless I misunderstand what that means. I had the camera's USBC hooked up to a USBC port on a Macbook Pro, and the computer was plugged in. No power flowed. Is it supposed to go in reverse? Should the camera have been plugged in to power the laptop? Not sure. Overall, I think it's a good buy. Much, much easier to deal with than my Pico, which is a beautiful thing, but older -- I wanted an upgrade and this works. It's not perfect, but it is slick, which counts for something, as long as it works. I think it works well, aside from getting the picture straight.

Great for casual use or quick set up needs
What a fantastic little unit. Please note: It's not high def, it's not super bright... if that's what you're looking for, you need a bigger unit. Where this one shines is it's ease in setup, portable size, and great (really great) sound. I bought this when I saw it used by someone else in a demo. Companies a, b, and c were giving their presentations. The lull while each vendor set up their projector, ran a power wire, and spent a few minutes correcting the focus and keystone - not to mention the clunkiness of these big projectors, detracted from the products they were presenting, in a negative way. Put simply - in the time it took for setup, we got bored. But one of the presenters whipped out this little thing. Had his presentation already loaded on a usb stick. Simply sat it on the table, and off we went. No power plug, no clunkiness. Aesthetically, this thing perked us all up. The lights needed to be dimmed in order to see it decently.. And sure there are larger units that can give the same features but with brighter light, and less portability- but not at this cost. Before I left the room I was already checking out what this thing was, on Amazon. No regrets. Had the chance to use it this recently for an impromptu showing of Its the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, to entertain the kids at a family party. Picture and more importantly sound quality were excellent. Sound was loud and clear even with chatty kids in a room. Setup was instant, and the kids were enthralled and we were able to set it up tucked out of the way in a room not normally used for movies/etc.. If we had to instead dig out the big projector, stretch an extension cord, find speakers, play around with settings... we wouldn't have bothered, and just would have done something else instead with them. So to be clear - this is NOT a home theater projector. It's not intended to be either. It's a fantastic takealong and great for casual or quick setup use. I liken it to cameras. You've got your DSLR, right? Big, clunky, but takes great pictures. But you don't always want to lug it around. So they make some pretty fantastic pocket-able cameras, too - that take better quality pictures than your phone, but don't require much effort to bring along.

Broke down after 1 year and 9 months of mild usage
The picture quality and sound quality are good, especially for the compact size of the projector. The responsiveness to the the remote control is not great. Despite mild use (cumulative 4 hours per week since purchase), the device suddenly stopped working. No one was available to speak to through their customer service hotline - I could only leave a message on a mailbox and my have not yet received a return phone call. I had specifically invested into this model expecting better quality compared to the other brands, and availability of customer service. For such a short shelf life, one can go with a cheaper projector.

Keep an eye on this as they do drop the price from time to time (at the time of this review - Oct 2018 - price dropped to £248). Absolutely brilliant for home use - bright, sharp images, excellent sound from Harman/Kardon speakers, compact remote control, rechargeable battery with good battery life, completely portable projector. So glad I purchased this rather than cheaper models - this is simply an excellent product for the price. For Apple users, get the official certified lightning to HDMI adapter (see my separate review) - bite the bullet and fork out £50 for it as no other adapter will work. Once you get it, it connects and streams seamlessly from iPhone and iPad. As at end of October 2018, I’ve streamed Netflix, Amazon Prime, BT Sport, Apple TV, BBC iPlayer, YouTube plus loads of other apps. As another reviewer has said, Sky Go does not stream due to licensing restrictions. Only slight cons I feel worth mentioning: - there is a bit of light bleed around the edges of the projector - some people may find the fan slightly noisy (although I find that once the audio is playing, it’s not that noticeable) - the stand doesn’t quite stand true so you may need to adjust it None of the above mentioned cons materially change the experience for me - the overall quality and functionality of the product at this price is amazing.

i received this in perfect condition.first thing first, video quality, so okay this cute little projector is limited by its resolution.one cannot expect 720p or full hd quality with this.in this world of uhd and 4k tvs maybe you will find it a little dull but then you will have to spend more for full hd or 4k capability.still let me assure you the picture quality does not disappoint.supply a full hd input and watch in a dark room and the video quality is amazing.a true theater like(almost) immersive experience.this is a budget friendly projector for basically multimedia consumption not for presentations or office work and good enough for that. moreover this projector ticks a lot of boxes like beautiful and rugged design, portability and small size enables you to carry it everywhere, lots of inputs, low input lag for its size, very low fan noise, nice battery life, amazing audio, very long life of lamp, short throw, auto keystone correction,a very nice rotating stand, full 3d capability etc etc.i watched avatar 3d on this and it was spectacular. so all in all a wonderful gadget and vfm considering all the positives. this projector is very easy to handle, just plug and play so provides a perfect experience to beginners ,casual watchers or for watching movies outdoors and on the go.and afterwards if you are truly serious, have big space at home, like screening movies all the time and of course most importantly not constrained by the budget then go for something more professional like viewsonic px 706 hd etc for a better experience.
