Item Package Quantity:10 Ferritin levels are a great and easy way to screen for iron deficiency and low iron levels associated with iron deficient anaemia. Low levels of Ferritin have been associated with reduced fertility. The common cause is heavy periods. Iron levels also come under strain during pregnancy, where early detection can prevent anaemia developing. Other causes of low Ferritin include hypothyroid states, bowel disorders including inflammatory bowel disease and ascorbic acid disorders. The symptoms of low iron levels in early stages are insidious and non specific, often including malaise, lethargy, tiredness, onset is usually so gradual as not to trigger awareness. This test is suitable for general screening and should be considered especially by women with vegan or vegetarian or other restricted diets, a history of heavy periods and before and during pregnancy and breast feeding. Men with a history of blood loss or anaemia and other blood conditions should also consider the test.

Does work
I have very high ferritin reading found by the Gp I’m waiting for an outpatients appointment, but in the meantime I’m trying to lower it, I was a bit disappointed with this product as it doesn’t give a reading it just says abnormal results or normal, I already knew it was abnormal, the test worked tho

Useless
Useless. We had ordered three of these kits to take separate tests over one month. The first attempt failed to provide a result. In fact if the result was to be believed it suggested a desperate need for iron! Concerned so a second test was attempted the following day - exactly the same result. My partner tried the third test and again no result. These tests do not provide a ‘reading’ or measurement. Booked an appointment for an iron test with the nurse at our doctor’s surgery. Result showed absolutely no problem with my iron level.
