This works great and smells great but seems like it would work best for dryer hair.

This product and company are great. I love their marketing and packaging; there's no hidden ingredients or fillers with this product. Its 100% batana oil sourced from Honduras; there are no silicones, palm oils, sulfates and it is 100% vegan. I love when companies are transparent where they are sourcing their ingredients and they make it a point to tell you it’s clean. I threw out my other batana oil as it contained palm oil and silicone without me knowing. I would have never known about this information if it wasn’t for the diligent practices of this company and its branding. It's also made in the USA. I will be purchasing more products from this company.

The texture of the product is like room temperature butter or shortening. In my enthusiasm I worked a lot into my scalp & long hair, followed instructions, leaving it on for about 30 minutes, rinsed with warm water and began to shampoo. I had to shampoo it three times and I still didn’t get it all out — I think I applied too much to start with, operator error. After drying, my hair was still lank & greasy. The next morning I shampooed again and the remainder of the oil came right out and my hair was left incredibly hydrated & soft. And it looked and felt great.So be cautious how much you use! There is apparently a learning curve using this product! Despite ultimately getting good results I am only giving it three stars because I do have concerns about whether this product will build up & congeal in my pipes if I am using it two to three times a week as recommended, leading to having to call in a plumber to unclog my pipes, just conjecture but it is heavy & thick.

I love the smell of this - like a lovely sweet latte. It comes in a cello wrapped box with an inner safety seal inside the lid and there is a small applicator stick so you don't have to dip your fingers in the jar. It didn't indicate how much a "small amount" was, so I scooped out about a grape sized blob and smeared it on my scalp and roots. I have medium thickness but fine hair and in retrospect, I should have aimed for my ends instead. I didn't have a shower cap so I just walked around for about 30 minutes with my hair loose. When I deal with greasy dishes, I rub full strength dish soap on them, so I tried putting shampoo directly on the dry hair to break up the oil. That didn't work great, so don't try that. It did loosen up some oil when I wet it and rinsed and I added more shampoo, which did foam a bit, but still didn't carry away the oil. That's all I had the patience for, so after combing my hair out (which was easy to do), I used the bit of oiliness to put in a french braid. I think my hair will be softer, but it may take a couple days to get all the oil out, so I'll stick with using this on a weekend, when I don't have plans to go out anywhere.

I was one and done with this hair treatment. I had the hardest time rinsing it out. I shampooed 4 times during the first shower and my hair still came out looking really greasy. So the next day I hopped back into the shower and shampooed 2 more times. My hair looks less greasy now, but still isn’t ideal. I don’t recommend this batana oil hair treatment. Too much trouble, not worth it.

This product has an interesting scent, which wasn't my cup of tea, but I could see how other people might like it. Following the instructions, I used this as a mask. It never really washed out and left my hair feeling so greasy. Even after several days and several washes, it still feels greasy. Unfortunately, it didn't work for my hair - it doesn't feel softer, just yucky. Perhaps I used too much, or it isn't ideal for my hair texture (long and thinner with curls).
