Recently purchased for a horse with laminitis, they comfortably accommodate a foam pad and seem padded in all the right places. I actually have the fancy leather cavallo boots as well, in a size too small hence needing a new set but in being able to compare them, the entry level boots are basically the same. Same grip, same shell around the hoof, same style velcro closure, they just don't have a leather upper and these ones are ambidextrous. My horse walks very comfortably in them and they are so easy to put on

These boots were made for walkin
Fantastic sturdy and really worth the money. My old boy has transitioned beautiful from traditional nailed shoes to barefoot using these. We now use for hacking out and he loves them too
