Once you get the packet off these fruit strips are an easy and tasty way to get some fruit into you. Mango is my favourite so far and I've set it up on subscription every couple of months. I love the packaging too, which is what caught my eye to begin with, and recently gave some to the teenager in my life for Halloween 🎃🧟 as quick snacks/treats.

The packaging is very well thought out and the name is catchy. The marketing and image. They did great. My son and nephews were all eager to taste it because of the name. Taste wise, it is the best tasting fruit bars I’ve tasted. Now I’m not saying it tastes amazing, it doesn’t compare to artificial and sugary sweets. This is far more healthier option. So don’t expect to taste like skittles. It has a sweet with a hint of sour.

Tastes like a candy bar but it is healthy

As the saying goes “to each, his/her own” and as I can see from the other reviews these are quite well-regarded Fruit Snack Bars, unfortunately in our house they were not. You receive a box of 12 mango flavoured ‘Zombie Bars’ each is individually wrapped. The consistency is like hard jam, I don’t really know how else to describe it, and the packaging mentions fruit leather, which is more how I'd view it. We just didn’t like them at all. They’re low calorie and suitable for vegans as well as being Halal and Kosher. Also, they are soy, nut, gluten, and sugar free, so suitable for most people. Made with 100% fruit they count towards your 5 a day, so great for kids and getting them to eat something that isn’t sugar laden. So, they’re great for some people, just not us.

The packaging is attractive and fun, but the bars hardly have any of the sweet mango taste I was hoping for. I appreciate that these are supposed to be healthy, but I never expected a bar that tastes mainly of acidic fruit juices with a vague hint of apple. I wouldn't repurchase.

Fruit leathers can often be very thin, very chewy and a bit overcooked with a lot of sweetness but only a vague fruit flavour but these Zombie Fruit Bars are very different - and much better! They're slightly thicker than some fruit leathers with a much more moist texture and a big burst of fruit flavour that's authentic to the main ingredients. They're also softer to chew and need less chomping to break up into a tasty fruity mass in your mouth. They're very sticky though, so beware small children carrying one towards white furniture in other people's houses... The Man-Gouled Mango flavour is super sweet and with a nice mango-tang but it's the one Zombie variety where the apple flavour (Apple is by far the biggest ingredient) is more dominant so they do taste like Apple with a hint of Mango. That's not a bad thing but the other flavours in the range are a bit more characteristic and both the Straw-Buried and Blackberry Death varieties are more true to their named ingredients. They're all good though and it's hard to believe something this sticky and sweet has less than 100 calories per bar but that's a good thing. The box of twelve makes it easy to add a sweet fruit-based treat to daily lunchboxes and is decent value for something this tasty that's 100% fruit based.

The product design of these is very strange, but in a good way. “Here lies 170g of massacred fruit squished into a 25g Fruit Leatherz bar. R.I.P. Here to open.” The box art looks really fun and colourful, reminds me of the day of the dead festival with sugar skulls, with a cross over of zombies. It looks awesome with the Zombie branding. We got the ‘Man-Ghouled” mango flavour and they’re a seriously good. Flavour is spot on, right amount of sweetness and the mango tartness just rides though. Hubby said they were very sweet at first but he’s already wanting to try the blackberry ones. They do have 18g of sugar, but it’s all natural from the fruit. No added sugar or sweetener. The bar isn’t really sticky, but very tacky. It won’t slide of the packet, so you will need to rip the packet open as you eat. If you’re only eating half at a time, this might be an issue for you depending where you’re going to store it after. At the time of the review, the best before date was a little over 12 months away. And they had a production date being just over 2 months ago. Overall, the bar tasted really nice, and the design is really fun. Will be buying more of these.
