I ordered this black pair after purchasing a grey pair. Exact same size. Both XL. I like my clothes looser. My gray ones are a perfect fit. The black ones are off. Super tight. Holding up and comparing the black ones, they appear a small to medium size. Every time I wash the leggings, the black ones pick up any lint while the gray ones wash clean with no lint. I checked the sizes and the sizes are both marked XL. The material seems different between the two and it appears that something happened with the sizing. I love the gray pair. I ordered another gray pair direct from Smart Wool (not off Amazon) and the second gray pair are perfect. I have ordered multiple black pairs in the past direct from Smart Wool. Never had this happen before with Smart Wool leggings. They are my go to legging for winter. Quality check seems off on the black pair.

Loved these smart wool leggings:bottoms. I bought for a backpacking trip in eastern Sierras early June 2020. The temps were in low teens and low 20's in the higher elevations I also slept In them. I was cozy and warm all night. They weren't itchy to me at all I bought XL. Could of gone large. I'm 160 & 5'4.

Each year when winter rolls around I get happy when I can pull on a piece of wool like this one. I go a size up because I use as leggings and I like them more like pants. Worth every dime.
