Does what it needs to do
Not sure how in depth one needs to be for a potato ricer but here we go- it does exactly what it's supposed to do. It's not fancy, it's not super heavy duty, but if you want a $25 potato ricer that is easy to use, that's exactly what this is. I don't actually use it for making mashed potatoes but for making potato-leek soup and it works great for that. Please remember you need to actually cook your potatoes before using this as it's not going to do anything for an uncooked or partially cooked potato. For $25 this isn't bad and should last you a good while

Does it's job
It feels a little flimsy but it seems to work well. Takes a bit to get used to how to use it as a first timer but will use again. Easy clean up as it can go in tye dishwasher. Have only used it for mashed potatoes so will continue to use it for other things too.

Makes smooth & creamy mashed potatoes
For years I have used my mom's old potato masher which is probably at least 50 years old. I am thrilled to finally have a potato ricer to be able to get all my potatoes and sweet potatoes nicely fine. The unit is easy to grip and squeeze. The internal capacity is real large. I boil up my potatoes and stick a few cut up ones in at a time so that they can easily smash down and be pushed through all the holes. Then I just need to add my milk and seasonings and lo and behold - smooth and creamy mashed potatoes or creamy sweet potatoes.

Well made ricer!
This potato ricer is well made and heavy duty. There are no sharp edges and the entire device is well aligned and easy to use. I appreciate the silicone grips on the handle and end tab making it secure to hold. It works perfectly with thoroughly cooked potatoes, carrots and yams. I also tried it with cauliflower but I can’t recommend it for that use. The cauliflower was too fibrous resulting in a mess. It’s dishwasher safe making it easy to clean. This ricer is a quality product and I highly recommend it.

This thing is unexpectedly awesome
Ok, I really like this thing. I boil russet potatoes for about 40mins each and then put them in this thing. I squeeze the handle and out comes riced/mashed potatoes! It doesn't take a lot of effort to squeeze this device, and probably the best thing for me is that it effectively separates the skin from the rest of the potato! Long gone are the days of having chunky mashed potatoes, or putting a lot of effort into a masher, and then having skin bits in the end result! I absolutely love this thing and think it's an essential for anyone who cooks potatoes a bunch.

This works well as a ricer, but you MUST cook your potatoes fully
This is a fine ricer for the price, but you MUST cook your potatoes well for this to work (and not break or bend). The ricer part is strong enough to do a good job, but if you squeeze too hard, you put pressure on the hinge and that seems like the weak point. As others have pointed out, a ricer is a great way to quickly mash potatoes. You can also use it to make baby food, apple butter, or even spaetzle. So don't think of this as 'only' for mashing potatoes. Search the web, you can find plenty of ways folks use this. That said, this is an OK product for its cost. The ricer is fairly easy to clean (Yes, this is dishwasher safe), it does work well with fully cooked potatoes, and there is even a handy hole for hanging this in your kitchen (or pantry). If you have never used a ricer before, this is a fine starter for you to experiment with.Once you use it and find out what you can do with it, you may find other applications to try.I can recommend this, but please, make sure that you only put soft things in it to rice.👍

This is a well thought out and designed vegetable ricer to make your work easier
This is a well thought out and designed potato ricer, and that careful thought shows up all over the place. The stainless steel, robust construction means it will last for several lifetimes of hard use for ricing and mashing various vegetables and keep its shape and remain shiny. The silicone handle inserts make it easy on our hands. The length of the handles provides plenty of leverage to make the work much easier. We had a very old potato ricer, maybe 80 years old, that my mother used and passed on, but it was made of common steel and thin construction, so it really showed its age. The basket on this one is much deeper which makes the work go much faster and it is built like the proverbial brick outhouse, which is why I said it will last for several lifetimes! A ricer ALWAYS makes very fluffy potatoes and other vegetables, better than any other device for this purpose

Rice it up
I recently had the pleasure of using a potato ricer that has quickly become an indispensable tool in my kitchen. This ricer can hold up to 15 ounces of potatoes, which is more than adequate for most culinary tasks, whether you’re preparing a smooth, creamy mash for a family dinner or crafting a delicate purée for a more sophisticated dish. What struck me first was the remarkable sturdiness of the product. It is clear that this ricer is built to last, and the manufacturer’s confidence is evident in the lifetime warranty they graciously offer. Such a guarantee is a rare gesture in today’s market, and it speaks volumes about the quality of the craftsmanship. The ricer’s efficiency is truly admirable. It effortlessly transforms cooked potatoes into a fine, fluffy consistency without the slightest bit of strain. The handle offers a comfortable grip, allowing you to apply pressure with ease. This tool makes quick work of what could otherwise be a laborious task, making it an absolute delight to use.For those who appreciate the finer things in life, this potato ricer is a kitchen essential that combines function and form. It is, without question, a product I can recommend with the utmost confidence. Whether you are a seasoned chef or simply someone who enjoys cooking at home, this ricer is a worthy addition to your culinary arsenal.

Effortless Perfect Mashed Potatoes
I used to use a mixer to make my mashed potatoes, but this ricer does it so much better. Using a mixer, there would still be some lumps but with the ricer, the mash comes out perfectly smooth and fluffy every time.Using the ricer is straightforward and efficient. The ergonomic design and non-slip silicone on the handles make it easy to press potatoes through with minimal effort. I also tried this with sweet potatoes and it works just as good. The potato ricer is quite large at 15oz capacity. I can mash a substantial amount of potatoes in one go, significantly speeding up the process. The stainless steel construction feels robust and durable, with the handles not bending or breaking when under pressure. Its also easier than I expected to press the potatoes out of the fine holes, and the process doesn’t really hurt my hands. Cleaning the ricer is simple since theres no small gaps and its also dishwasher safe. The only thing that bothers me slightly is that its quite large, so storing it away after use takes up a good amount of cabinet space. It also doesn’t fit into my drawer for kitchen tools. Other than that, I have no complaints. Its sturdy construction, ease of use, and versatility make it a must-have for anyone who loves cooking or potatoes. Highly recommended!

Smooth and creamy potatoes, and Asian jelly desserts
I recently tried a potato ricer for the first time, and it has been an absolute game-changer in my kitchen! A recommend for my fellow smooth and clumpless mash potato lovers. Using this potato ricer has completely transformed the way I make mashed potatoes. The texture is incredibly smooth and fluffy, far superior to what I used to achieve with a regular masher. It’s amazing how much of a difference this tool makes - no more lumps or unevenly mashed bits! The ricer itself is easy to use. Just place the cooked potatoes in the chamber and squeeze the handles together. The design is straightforward and intuitive, making it a breeze to operate even for a first-timer like me. Plus, it’s easy to clean, which is always a bonus in my book. Additionally, the build quality is excellent. It feels sturdy and durable, so I know it will last a long time. The handles are comfortable to grip, and the overall design is well thought out, ensuring ease of use and efficient ricing.I also love the versatility of this tool. Besides potatoes, I’ve used it for ricing other vegetables like cauliflower and sweet potatoes. It’s great for making Asian jelly desserts too. The results are always consistently smooth, which makes this ricer a truly versatile addition to my kitchen gadgets.Overall, I’m thrilled with my potato ricer. It’s a simple tool, but it has made such a significant impact on my cooking. If you love smooth, creamy mashed potatoes or want a versatile tool for ricing various veggies, I highly recommend giving this potato ricer a try. It’s become an essential part of my kitchen routine, and I couldn’t be happier with it!
