The Ultimate Collection

A good selection
If you remember Mr Diamond from the first time around this double CD will bring back some great tracks of perhaps what some may call better days.

Yay!
I grew up with many of these songs, but was a little bit concerned the compilation might be one o'them re-recorded things. Well, guess what? I've got the first CD playing now and am so pleased to find all the tracks so far are the original studio recordings I remember being played on the radio all those years ago.I saw this collection and had to at least try it out. I love so many of Neil's old songs. Now I've got them in this lovely package, plus a load of records I'm not yet familiar with. Can't lose there, aye!So far, very, very happy with the album and I'm up to Love On The Rocks. Keep it comin' Neil. Loving listening, :D

3x the love !
I can honestly say I love this cd.....which is why I bought it for the 3rd time !!! By Mistake I hasten to add ! This is the 3rd identical CD with a different cover.....I really should read the description more carefully lol. Luckily I have family who also love this CD so they have received surprise gifts !

Slightly disappointed
The Ultimate Collection CD was one of my favourite albums from Neil Diamond and unfortunately one of the cd's went missing. I bought the Ultimate Collection from 2007 priced at £6.98. However this is not the same as the Ultimate Collection from 1996 (only 1 cd) priced at £11.99. There are not as many songs on the cheaper version and I don't think it should have been given the same title as the original. I am therefore probably going to order the £11.99 version as I absolutely love it.

WHY CALL IT 'THE ULTIMATE'?
Neil Diamond was a great song writer in his day and his 'live' performances were pretty good too, but to issue a collection with this title almost contravenes the trades description act! This is a budget label, and I suppose this is all you can expect, and they've done this to cash in on a list of other great names -- 'live' recordings, of which there are several here. Studio takes are always the best, and they should form the basis for any album known as 'the ultimate'. This certainly isn't!
