Gabrielle
Sometimes it is hard to be loved….especially if you’ve never felt love from a parent. This story is one that I love because we get to see Gabrielle find her HEA even when she tries to push it away.

Easy to read story involving domestic discipline and more emotion than you might expect
Gabrielle’s Discipline Is the second book in the ‘Bridal Discipline’ series, and Gabrielle is the step-daughter from the first book, Philip's Rules. You do not need to have read the first book in order to enjoy or understand this one.Gabrielle is a character with complexities that go far beyond the surface. Felix, the youngest son of a nobleman, is a charming and confident man. He recognizes quite quickly after meeting her that she is going to be more than a simple young woman. Felix was more than happy to be a freewheeling bachelor, but suddenly he realizes that he is not so reluctant to settle down with Gabrielle. There are a lot of complex issues with her very young stepmother, and I like that although they made progress everything is not perfect by the end of the book with that relationship. To avoid a scandal, Gabrielle is married off to Felix. She has had a crush on him for a long time, but she’s convinced that he’s in love with her stepmother. Of course, Felix loves Gabrielle but thinks she hates him. Without giving spoilers, I’ll just say they both have good reason for their beliefs. Since this book features domestic discipline, there are plenty of opportunities for those scenes as the characters slowly figure it all out. There is more emotion in the book than you might expect, an entertaining plot, and a substantial amount of steam.

Wishes come true
Early on Gabrielle spyed Felix and decided he would perfect husband material. But he was so attached to her stepmother, Cordelia. She was married to Felix's best friend. Plus, Felix was one of her so called bodyguards. But she was determined to marry so she could get out of her gardens house. So, a fourten Hunter had proposed to her and she accepted him. Her Heart was set on Felix, but he wasn't interested. So, if her fiancee promised she could get out of London and live in the country, she was all for it. She wouldn't have to stomach her new husband every often and she could pretend. But Cordelia and Felix and Philip caught them trying to run away and stopped them. But too many people saw them and then her young man created a scene. But instead of forcing them to let him marry her fat dowery, he got Felix's first in his face. Gabrielle was then hustled out and into the carriage. When they got home, Philip just told Gabrielle to go to bed. Then Felix announced that he would marry Gabrielle! Tomorrow! And so they did get married that next afternoon and retired to the country home. Then things got really interesting. And this is where I stop. You will have to read the book for all the tidbits and how it ends. Remember that this is an adult readers book, so there's a lot of SEXY tidbits and a lot of spankings to go around. You just got to love this series and you won't waste your money buying it, either. I highly recommend this book and series for anyone who likes spanking stories. And happily ever after endings. Yes haw!

The book frustrated me
Gabrielle is a spoiled, jealous brat. She has insecure issues that didn't fully get solved. A work in progress I guess...but exactly the type of girl that most others don't want to be around. Felix is wonderful.

Got what she needed
Poor Gabrielle. She may have been the foil in the first of this series but anyone could see the poor child was misguided and misunderstood. She had a soft heart and was often disappointed in her expectations of her guardians. Phillip finally realized what she needed, some true guidance and respect instead of dismissal and excuses. Felix finally figures it out too.. I loved this book. I am disappointed that Gabrielle and Cordelia still haven't worked out their issues. I did hope they would come to an amenable relationship. Maybe someday (yes I care about these people that don't exist, GA is good at that) I found this book extremely steamy and hot. It may not be everyones taste but its soooo good for those of us whose taste it appeals. I have no respect for these heartless reviewers who can't see past their own prejudices to see a child having a tantrum has a need that needs to be met. I do feel sorry for them that they'll never enjoy the closeness that can be felt with a sensitive soul when their needs are met. Stop thinking of yourself only and try to see another's point of view. This book is almost a guided lesson in such. Great story

Good story
Gabrielle has to grow up quickly when she faces the consequences of a self-inflicted scandalous situation. Felix saves her from her folly. It breaks her heart that he only married her to save her "family's" reputation. Or so she thinks. They are both uncertain of the other's feelings and it doesn't help that they each think the other's affections lie elsewhere. A great story, marred only by the editing issues. Too many run-on sentences and misplaced or inaccurate words. As much time should have been invested in making sure the content was tight as was spent updating the covers years after the tale was originally published.

Riding the edge
Of what I can actually enjoy reading. The writing is good. I like Felix, but I wanted to throat punch him and Philip for their treatment of Cordelia. Gabriella was a cruel brat to her stepmother. Regardless of how she treated everyone else. There is no way in hell Cordelia should have been punished for not visiting the shrew who didn’t want her to.I’ll read the next in the series, but I’m fast approaching my limit on the type of spanking that these heroes enjoy inflicting. Unless we get some stronger heroines who might get to inflict some well deserved punishment on their husbands, I will need a respite.

Enjoyable story - in the main
Gabrielle is the step-daughter from Philip's Rules. Here, to avoid a scandal she is married off to Philip's best friend, Felix. She is insecure; years of neglect by her father who only wanted a son have made her behave spoiled and petulant to gain attention. She is in love with Felix but believes he loves her step-mother; he loves her but thinks she doesn't like him. As is usual with such tales, there are many trips on the way to the HEA. Plenty of enjoyable sex and discipline, my problem with this was the heavy-handed and unsympathetic way the heroine of the first story was portrayed. The two viewpoints seemed too disparate. Also (and I have mentioned this to the author) Cordelia's title should be Marchioness, and she (the author) seems to delight in what I find is an overuse of Regency idiom.

Very enjoyable books.
Excellent read, and I highly recommend these books, but I found it really annoying the lack of the correct use of the language for the period, some of the characters names , which were not used in England at the time, and in Gabriella's book , the constant use of the word "creek". We do not have creeks in the UK. It is called a stream here. We have rivers, streams and becks, no creeks!

Another great read from a favourite author
Including the original series this is the 7th book about a group of friends- all of high status- and their efforts to woo and win over their chosen brides. Every book has been wonderful and this one is no exception. Poor Gabrielle- who we met in the last book- has had a lonely life with little affection and when she is forced because of her own folly to marry Felix she finds it impossible to believe he loves her and not her stepmother. The best thing about Golden Angel's books is the emotion in them. As a reader you feel for each character- you can feel Felix's total bewilderment in trying to understand his wife. You can feel Gabrielle's mixed emotions going from disbelief to dispair and finally to happiness. I love how we get snippets about favourite characters from the previous books- Cynthia and Wesley- Irene being pregnant etc. I can't wait til the next one- who on earth will Isaac marry and will Arabella ever find a man she can wed ?

A magnificent second in series
This is a magnificently crafted second book in this steamy series. all the characters in this thrilling story are amazing, and have some wildly erotic adventures. This story does have some passages that explain some fetish acts.
